think me and my friend tried every conceivable way to kill them but our opponent was ex eldar and he was very good with tyranids. tried titans, tried attacking their hive mind connections, tried loads of firepower, tried heavy armour, tried librarians, the list goes on. they were an absolute pain in the rear

Completely agree with these. I would add Mr Ghazghkull Thraka to that list; time the Wargggghhhhh! to coincide with 2-3 assaulting clans

Also, the Great Gargant's ball munition was bloomin' effective against anything with legs Even when it missed it would often take down an infantry laden building instead
