The last game of 40k I played was with rogue trader rules, but I am driven to make a legal Sm army for the current rules/codex....
anyway , pouring over the rule book and SM codex has left me with a few questions, none of which are particularly important but for the sake of peace of mind I thought I'd throw them out there..

Stormbolters..... should these also be rapid rire?

What initiative does a marine with lightning claws fight with?
( is it like a powerfist with atached swords   I 1 or multiple power wepons on a glove, SM's inittiative?)

and finallywhy do you think that heavy flamers are only a weapon option for terms? IG junglefighters can get them for their troops, am I on my own in thinking these should be available to tactical squads?

I'm sure these are all noobish questions to anyone that actually PLAYS the new incarnation of 40k, if so than sorry,,

anyway, was just wondering :)

No, Stormbolters are Assault 2 , 24". This means you can move and still fire 2 shots up to 24". You can also fire them, and still charge in the Assault phase.

Lightning Claws fight in Initiative order, so are obviously quicker than Powerfists, but of course they don't double the user's Strength.

This is more that tactical Squads have never had Heavy Flamers, and Termis only really got them for tunnel fighting in Space Hulk.
But if you want to play Marines with Heavy Flamers, try Codex: Deamonhunters. Grey Knights can take LOTS of Incinerators (souped-up Heavy Flamer)

Hope this helps,
Reaver

Thanks Reaver, pitty storm bolters aren't assault2 and rapid fire  :p  still  can't have everything, though I might start a campaign for adding Heavy flamers to the tactical squad options, or is that just greedy...lol
