Hi all,
I've painted up my 3rd model for my brand new Warhammer Wood Elf Army. And he's not a mercenary...  ???  :80:

More later    :p

Here he is again - including his long, long - er - banner?
That's an oar, that is. Venice....

And he's made of stone - hence the drab paint job and flock on his spare tyre.  :80:

Oh dear.
Well, you see, Wood Elves are ok, but I don't like to see thpse poor trees dragged out to war. So I've settled on a Stonelven army, including a few Stone Elves, a blood Bowl Dark Elf team standing in for Wardancers, and the ability of transforming beasties and people to stone overnight. With said beasties finding their way in their army as living statues (replacing Treekin, in this case, with Dyads being replaced by smaller troops).
they're based in Venetia (corny...), which abounds with statues... no wonder!
You can't get a dafter background than this, I guess :p

I don't know, I kind of like it. Stone or Earth based rather then Tree/vegitation based.

Look forward to seeing the rest of the army.

Nice!! :D

Keep it up, Van!

have you thought about using stone elementals as treemen?

A friend of mine is making a thematic wild hunt satyr army, using ngors as dryads, centaurs and Orion as the treeman. I find those armies much more interesting. I am starting to get sick of the same clonic armies over and over again. Specially for the WE, that are the novelty and so widely played.

Kudos for a great idea!! :D

Cheers,

Xavi

Thanks guys.
The elementals are a good idea - if I get my hands on them!
And the satyrs etc are a terrific idea - would be great to see that.  Incidentally, a centaur will be featuring in my ranks as well.  :D

Great idea V AND it allows you to have an ogre without having to have a silly ogre army, kudos
Will await the next installments
