Does any here happen to play Inquisitor? I think the game has great potential but it is like pulling teeth to get players. Even if they don't have provide miniatures. They just need to show up. I bet there will be an increase of players once the RPG comes out next year. -Audrey |

Audrey Maybe you should try running Inquisitor in 28mm scale rather than 54mm? That's what we did at our local gaming club. After all we have a load of the old Necromunda scenary and a fair bit of other buildings that can be used for certain games, even Mordheim scenary if playing on a less technologically advanced world/remote outpost. And now GW have released some really great Witchhunter and Daemonhunter models in 28mm scale..... I do like the 54mm figures as figures. For a start even with my eyesight I can see them clearly enough to highlight small details!! But I look at them as being more for display purposes rather than serious gaming. The one serious problem that Inquistor rules had was that it was half way between a wargame and roleplaying. You need a GM to do some work on setting up the scene (unless you use one of GW's preprinted scenarios) and you need players that are going to approach Inquisitor in the right spirit. If they are going to go all out down the munchkin power gamer route of picking the most points efficient waepons/stats/skills then game would be no fun, as there are not enough checks and balances. But if you approach it in the right way and be prepared to have "sub-optimal" characters and concentrate on the roleplaying and fluff background aspects, then it can be great fun. The background and darkness of Inquisitor has laways appealed to me far more than Necromunda. It has great "gloomth". Cheers James |

Inquisitor is one of those games that I find the background for really interesting... but I have absolutely no intention of actually playing the game. I prefer my games more 'reasonable' and the initial reports emphasised the 'cinematic' elements. Add to this the fact that you have a critical mass of three players, when just finding one other opponent for games is difficult enough, and there is another game that I wont get to play, and dont regret this so much. That said, I do own a few of the minis... ![]() |

I play =][= and have run many games (in 28mm) at the club I run at my school... er I mean workplace. I've also got a reasonable selection of models in the 54mm scale (including a Lictor!) I like the fact the being the GM effectively makes you God. I've even got the kids in the club calling me god (at a catholic school no less). |

I play Inq from time to time, and feel it's an immensely fun game. It is, for a one off, far more interesing than a roleplay[as you don't need the faffing about, and get straight down to *gritty* roleplay[no sitting in a shop for half an hour whilst your friend haggles over the cost of a splintmail armoured vest...], and the GM has ability, nay responsibility, to say "to hang with the rules, *this* is a more interesting way to do it!". I'm set for over the summer making a few new models, mainly Xenos[as I'm a bit of a Xenophile!] ranging from Bentu'sin[Demiurg] and Fio'la[a hapeless Tau 'Janitor' caught up in things beyond what he's supposed to be in]. Not only that, but I've got to sort out my twice-binary-cortexed formerly shared a body with an Ad Mech Magos, now inhabiting an undeveloped[personality wise] Afriel Strain[so basically been put into an Afriel body 'fresh'], who needs a good model! Fantastically fun game, and often a tremendous laugh. Not only that, but you get alot of opportuntity to mess about 'in Character', which is a massive amount of fun in the 40k universe! Xisor |

Audrey- Thanks for link. And very nice they are too. The gunslinger is such a simple idea but very well done. However my favourite was Inquisitor Osoren. That was amazing. A couple of minor conversions and a different paint scheme and the figure looks so totally different to Fabius Bile. If I did n't have too many painting projects to do then I would be tempted to give that a go. Thanks very much James |

I like the Inquisitor game's background & gameplay idea also. But the fact I have 1 BFG opponent and else nothing that seals the deal rather quickly.... (For Pirates of the Spanish Main I have 4-6 opponents!, Cheap > Expensive) |
