The new "newsletter" has Volume Two of the new large format Armor books. I was curious if anyone bought the first one and if so, what did they think of it? 45 pounds is a lot of money and yet the sample pages make me curious. dafrca |

Yep- the first one is superb- I highly, highly reccomend it- I won't be getting this one until I'm feeling particually rich, but the first one is an excellent bit of work in my opinion... |

agree with stormy I don't even play 40K scale Imperial Guard and I bought volume one IMHO it is probably the best publication that GW (FW) has ever produced. recommended |

I second Brother Stormseer and Brother Jimbo. It is a very good book with some nice color plates and pictures. |

I can assure you all that the second Imperial Armour book is one of the best archival books published by GW/BL/FW. I have both and while the first one is good the second one is simply brilliant. It covers all the space marine and inquisition/Sisters of battle vehicles along with immense fluff write ups. Relatively expensive by te standard of the usual GW hobbyists but compared to similar historical books very comparable. A must for the serious hobbyist and collector. SG |

Really? I have the first one.Came with an ebay deal I won. Really good read. Introduced me to other less common tanks than your average leman russ (and the ones that I think *are* real tanks in 40k; I always despissed the "fortification-like display of the leman russ: move OR shot) as wel as some other great things, like AA and AT armoured vehicles. I really liked it. IIRC there is yet an other imperial armour book that displays eldar and ork vehicles, right? Anyone has that one? And is the second imperial book written in the same style as the first one? Xavi |

Yeah, there was originally a set of softback books from FW (3 iirc; Imperial Armour, Imperial Armour II and Imperial Armour Update)- the newer massive hardbacks are to replace these... |
