Post subject:  Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer
Go to the Black Library and check out the new IG field manual !  Very interesting ... I've seen similar books in the "real" world.  Looks like G/W's BL got the idea from the world's militaries.  Appears to be very USSR/ Big Brother-ish.  Only $20.00 US.  I still have a little problem with G/W's fluff that is all wrapped around this gothic/fanatic/religious/cult stuff.  I'd prefer just hard-corps Sci-fi ... but the book says it all, I think.  Worth a look !  :;):

Well, in fact I am more a "gothic liker" than a fanboy, but hey. For a start I always think ogf the marine chapters as being 12k strong or so, not a mere 1k and I also think that there are more rogue areas than most people is willing to swallow around. But I still prefer gothic over shinny and clean ;)

Yes Mojarn, it does look interesting, but not enough for me to buy it ! ?:laugh: ?As for you FBs, Horus, Alpharius, etc. are "Choirboys" in my mind ! ?:laugh: ?"The Darkside just got darker !" ?:laugh: ? Anyway, I like dark, dirty and gritty in Sci-fi, I just think G/W's concepts, much based on religious fanaticism, the Dark Ages, etc. are a bit over the top and somewhat illogical ... but that's my opinion ... it really means nothing. ? So I'm a heretic ... again ! ? :laugh: ? And Xavi, I agree with you, with the fluff and huge battles that they talk about, a 1000 SMs wouldn't last very long ! ?So we all take the good, the bad and the ugly of the G/W fluff in our own way ...
