What do you know about it??? I know there was some batrep in White Dwarf long ago, but it was long before I started collecting the mag. I have the info about it published after the release of the Necron Codex in WD and in Codex, but nothing more.
So, what do you know about it guys, please help.
I need this to write rules for an EA scenario based around this battle.

Explain what it is about more to refresh my memory, and I'll tell you if I have any details on it. At the moment it doesn't ring a bell.

I think I can help- it was a battle rep in a WD around #215-220ish... Sisters of Battle against the old 40k Necrons... The Necrons attacked this ruined shrine and the Battle Sisters had to attempt to set off a warning beacon at the end of each turn, to warn Imperial forces or something like that... I'll see if I can dig the issue out in a bit....

..Got it... UK WD #218.......
"In this month's Warhammer 40,000 battle report, White Dwarf's very own Ian Strickland and Markus Trenkner battle it out. The Sisters of Battle fight a desperate rearguard action to hold back the unstoppable tide of the Necron Raiders. This special scenario is by Rick Priestly."
"The objective of the Necron Raiders is to destroy the defenders before their Astropath has time to send a warning beacon in the Imperium. The objective of the Sisters of Battle is to delay the Necrons long enough to send this beacon." |
..The Sisters had half the points of the Necrons and deployed in a ruined shrine set up.. the Necrons march on from the opposing table edge and had the first turn.
Here is the Warning beacon stuff:
"At the start of the Sisterhood's turn 2, and at the start of each subsequentSisterhood turn, roll a dice. If the dice scores a 6 then the Astropath has succesfully prepared the psychic beacon that will warn the Imperium of the Necron attack. The beacon is automatically dispatched at the end of the following Necron turn unless the necrons can destroy all remaining Sisters of Battle before thaft time. This means that the necrons always get 1 turn to finish off the Sisterhood after a 6 is rolled." |
The Sisters will automatically pass any leadership test they are required to take. They will not run from the conflict but will stand and die if necessary.
The tabletop is supposed to be barren & featureless, with just the Shrine, a couple of hills and some rocks and craters...
..At the end of the game the Sisters were utterly slaughtered without managing to dispatch the beacon with hardly any casulties on the Necron side... nice. ?
Phew.. Hope that helps...
