Hi!
That was my recollection too, that they shed indefinitely. I dont think anyone knows how long a ork can live since the all die in combat sooner or later!

You'd think that Imperial bio-science would be advanced enough to create some bio-organisms that would eat Ork spores.
Several insect species already do this, don't they?

though I suspect your reasoning is very logical, the Imperium has always truck me as an organisation unlikely to do high level research unless it is based on past technology - in other words they won't invent new stuff just ensure old stuff works or old stuff when found can be reproduced._________________ Jimbo

Well, if not the Imperium, the Tau! But what would the poor Kroot eat then?
I wonder - do Krootboyz spore?
And - what if the Tau were to nobble Ghazgkull and the kroot were to eat him?

This was actually discussed in the story for Angor Prok, the legendary Kroot Shaper. During his war with the greenskins the Kroot ate the dead orks and because of this they didn't shed massive amounts of spores, thus the orks could not reinforce their troops through spores much.
