as some of you are aware I pre-ordered the new Forgeworld Imperial Armour hard backed book (?45) when I was at Bristol Conflict. Well it arrived on Friday and it is excellent. If you have read any of those reference book on the tanks of World War Two then you will certainly recognise the style that FW have used in presenting the information on each of the Imperial Guard (and Imperial Navy) vehicles that FW produce. In each section you get (for virtually all the vehicles) the fluff on each of the vehicles, the rules, data on each vehicle, "accurate" photographs of the vehicles in action, side view line drawings of each vehicle and camo patterns and markings. It is pretty much up to date (as it includes the Medusa Hades Pattern which has only just been released). FW have done a really really nice job on it and I would recommend a purchase - there are even two pages on Epic Armageddon. The next release will cover the Space Marines and Sisters of Battle. |

Sounds good, and the sample pages at FW looked very promising indeed. Sadly I just cannot justify a Aus $140 book which is simply fluff and stats for 40k which is a game I dont play. I love fluff a lot, but just cant stretch myself that far until I win lotto. I'm glad you are happy with it though and look forward to having a skeg through somebody's sometime! |

Well, I ordered it. Even though I've yet to play a single game of 40k. But then again, I've always had more money than common sense. And I don't have much money... |

Got the book yesterday! Unbelievable! After the Battle for Armageddon fiasco my hopes were pretty low but boy was I surprised positively. The book is a modest 286 -page affair. ? ![]() There are several color plates of all the vehicles, interior cut-off diagrams, company and formation organizations, photos and even a battle description and a excerpt of a war diary. To be fair: if you own the softcover books there isn't anything (ruleswise) for you. The main content is definetely for modelers and those who don't have the previous books. I have, but then again I am a modeler and crazy, so what did you except? ? ![]() ![]() The one thing I don't understand is: _why_ are all the big books printed on the glossy paper? It just makes the books more expensive, it is a pain to read because it makes the book so heavy, and a reading light causes reflections all over the pages. ? ![]() |

Dafrca didn't like the Battle for Armagedon. I haven't been able to peruse as much as I'd like to and I think I'd like a copy of that book as well as the new Imperial Armor. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

I got it, and liked it. Not much in the way of rules or scenarios, but heaps of fluff, great scene setters anb lots of scenario potential. Very nicely presented including digital "Photographs" of the areas. Not a vital purchase, but a nice one I'm glad I made. Of course I;d say the same thing about the new armour book, but its 3 x the cost |

You would? I'd very much like to part with my own copy of the Battle for Armageddon. The book has only been read once and then shoved onto bookshelf in disgust. Got any interesting trade items? ? ![]() |

To correct myself: there are two thingies not in the previous books. 1) Expanded rules for battlecannon ammunition. At the cost of doing bookkeeping the tanks can fire different types of ammunition. 2) IG Armoured battlegroup rules. These are not a reprint of the Armored Company rules from CA but a new list, even though it has similarities to the AC list. |
