Now that the Eye of Terror Campaign has been concluded and seemingly won by the forces of disorder. What effect do you think it will have on the WH-40K universe? And on the fluff? Haarken. |

Hmmm.... The website just says the Campaign is over and wait for 2-3 days for a newsletter with the results... BTW there was a loooong thread over at Portent about possible impacts of the Campaign on fluff. Its worth a read if you are interested. ciao! |

One totally UNOFFICAL spin at the EoT boards went like this: s it a Chaos win? Yes and no. THe gate is breached, but the breach is somewhat contained and the Gate is still contested. But, for the first time in 13 tries Chaos is in with a chance. They have a presnece in Agrapinaa, on the other side of the gate. I've been looking for a historical situation similar to this, and the best I can do is Guadal Canal. The FoD (US) have managed to establish a presence, but face a Navy that is capable of isolating them and both sides are focused on another objective (Cadia here, New Guinea in WWII). No side can claim a total victory, but the FoD are slightly ahead on balance, because they have a foothold they never had before and much of what the Imperium has has been weakened. The downside for them is this means they are more vulnerable than ever before. The next war will likely be fought on the Imperium's terms when they counterattack since the sector situation rules out a major break out for Chaos. For the Imperium, yes, Chaos is contained for now, but they have more options to expand and they did actually breach the gate this time. Cadia may have held, for now, but with Ag gone and Scarrus in ruins the picture is not pretty. The real winners are the Orks, who got themselves written into the fluff despite the setup and took a Forge World. They are followed by the Eldar. They won in the web and the situation leaves neither the Imperium or Chaos in a position to do anything to help the dying race die already. They may even manage to get a treaty with the Imperium again further securing their future. The Tau also come out on top, thanks to unchecked expansion. Next comes Chaos, with a foothold in real space. Then the Imps with the space situation containing the foothold The Nids are next, with pretty much a draw on their hands, they didn't make any major gains, and are barely mentioned. Then come the poor DE. Knocked back to their homes, but apparently still alive, which is more than some people thought they would have left. And we have no clue what is up with the Necrons. Or the blackstones. I suspect they are lost to the Necron and/or Eldar. If not, it would be nice if Abby used them to get rid of that annoying holdout system called Agrapinaa. |

Hi! At least it's more refreshing than seeing the Imperials win all the time. Go greenskins go! Primarch |

When does that ever happen? The most they ever achieve is a draw... I agree though, its nice to see some green success now and again! It means there is a nice objective for the punitive expedition! ![]() |

Yes, I read the G/W report on their site ... well ... looks like the Imperium has a lot of work to do. More War, more casualties, more purging of the Xenomorphic hoards ! Sounds like fun ! Where do I sign up ! ![]() |

Of course the cynic in me says it was always to be so...but some of the sideline issues and events are most interesting. Sign up? And here I was thinking you'd enlisted for life already... ![]() |
