Technically any could work. Just depends on what you're doing and what results you want.
Examples
hereThose were done on a FDM printer at .2mm layerheight. Are the the most amazing things in the world? Nope. But a bit of cleaning and it can work. (these were not cleaned up. Just assembled) Also, they were done in PLA. ABS would have alternative cleaning methods.
Would I print infantry on it? Probably not.
Would I have a cleaner experience with an SLA printer like the FormLabs stuff? Probably. I'll find out when it comes back from repair

There are other SLA printers out there that are cheaper than the FormLabs machines. It all comes down to the details on what you are paying for. Software, support, build area, extra materials or not, etc.
But on an FDM printer, you can probably get ok quality vehicles that need love to finish. You can also get some solid quality terrain depending on the design. I have some examples if you're interested in that kind of thing.
