The latest from my attempts to create proxy vehicles for Epic-scale Necrons, since Greed Workshop has seen fit to entirely euthanize Specialist Games, is the DeathBot Soul-Grinder. I know the name is rather lame, but I had a hard time finding a decent synonym for "abattoir". The length of each side of the pyramid is roughly 100mm, so this is a pretty big beast. Rather than the "Doc Ock"-style tentacles I've seen described in most Epic fan materials, I went with a more robotic approach. I'd say that this was for reasons of artistic imperative, but in reality, I just couldn't seem to design tentacles that I liked. ![]() ![]() More on my blog, here: http://javelin98.blogspot.com/2014/09/6 ... inder.html |

FYI, the abattoir is now live: http://shpws.me/x4C9 (Not to be confused with the ABBA-toir, which is a death machine powered by four blonde Swedish singers) |

AWESOME!!!! Basic vehicle for the Doomsday/Ghost Ark would be awesome. We can always add a lord model from the exodite range into it if we need to ![]() |

I know it's huge and Shapeways isn't cheap, but did you make it hollow to reduce costs? Just curious. |

It's here: http://shpws.me/x4C9 @berzerkmonkey: Yeah, it's as hollow as it can get! I even had to go back and thicken a couple areas to meet the printability requirements. Most of the walls are between 1.2mm and 1.5mm thick. It doesn't even have a proper bottom -- here's how it's designed to mount on a flight stand (the one below is the same dimensions as a GW large flight stand): Attachment: Attachment: Attachment:
