Does anyone have any experience with the cost of sculpts for 6mm. Would that be the greens then? Then what do you need to produce or make master molds of them. What does that cost? Are there any recommendations of sculptors for 6mm. Probably would be fantasy races, maybe dragons, etc. TIA! |

I've heard on TMP that the going rate is about $10 per mm of height per figure. Of course, that was before computer rendering really took off, and I'm not sure what that does. For example, each pose used to be its own green, but as Onslaught has shown us, a talented CAD designer can design infantry to articulate in software, letting him quickly create a variety of poses from one digital "sculpt". Bottom line: I'd love to hear what the new going rate is. |

I charge $250 for a tank-like object, which covers hull and turret. Prototyping and mold making are then up to the customer. In the past I used ninjamagic for 3D printing and investment casting. A typical cost for a tank might be about $100, but that yields a high quality and sturdy master pattern. |
