Just found this:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/117 ... ter-and-sc

It's allready funded ( over 500.000/50.000 goal).

Don't think the resolution is good enough for 6mm. But for terrain or homemade titans?
So what do you think?

The printings look like shit, that piece in his hand has huge grooves running across it. It really needs to be refined a lot

They control it using the audio card...... that just says to me that the programmer doesn't understand comms protocols..... ;)

Nice idea, if they can get a lithographic printer working well for less than $500 that will be a big step.....

I am no expert in this field but from what i have seen in the physics labs in university precise mirror controlling is pretty expensive. Don't know if this is the ideal solution but it is a cheap one. Better mirrors and software (this is the part where most of the funding goes) could improve the quality significantly. But yeah, still very sceptical. :D

But in the end this printer is not build for precision, it is build for being affordable. :)

But it could be so much better..... I get their reasons but twice the quality for 20% higher price is worth it in my book.... still watching with interest.....
