Are you planning on adding some components on the roof?

I also had another idea:
if you reduce your space hulk tiles by 5 times, and allow for a small sheet of metal to be glued on the bottom, it would be possible to use epic models to play space hulk! You would only need to drill a small hole on the base of the model and add a small magnet!

Haha, that might be pretty funny! But it would be a niche within a niche kinda thing. I doubt many people would play Space Hulk on epic scale! :P

As for the roof, I am planning to add some more details on it, expect more in the coming days.

Tweaked the design so it's a bit more print/cast friendly. Also moved the windows a bit so that each floor would have four 36 square meter apartments. Note that model is scaled 1:300, meaning a 36 square meter apartment in this model is 20mm x 20mm.

Playing a bit more with the design, and introduced a third part (top five floors):

Ok, been playing with it a bit more, and designed a wall variant. Had to redo the windows on the previous panels in order to make them compatible with this new one.

I noticed that I'm slowly moving into the realm of Fascist Architecture and Brutalist Architecture, which is more fitting for pre and early Imperial days, the whole Gothic thing combined with the skulls came later anyways!

Someone needs to make a scale reproduction of SFU then! The best example of brutalist architecture that's instantly known by Sci FI fans as it is a frequently used shooting location (Battlestar Galactica, Forward Unto Dawn, Caprica, XFiles, etc) :)

Hmm, might be a cool challenge!

In the meantime, an update on the designs:

Added another type of building, and also updated the roof a bit:

In theory all walls are interchangeable. Question is if it would work aesthetically, since the ones on the far left really have got their own style and might not look that nice when placed on top of the other components.

Very nice. Nothing says grimdark like brutalist bunker facades.

Been adding some more variants in the mix which could be cool for in the future. Idea is that each 'type' of building has three possible wall variants, the 'grand entry' / 'pillar' style (bottom), the normal door wall (middle) and the higher levels (top) variants.

Me too! Whilst at the moment my personal preference would go to Troll Forged Miniatures to produce them, it remains a bit of an uncertainty. Unlike some of the previous stuff I've come up with which was primarily for a setting we've been working on at the Troll Forged forums (like my ships for example), these buildings are a little bit more...well...'outside'. With this I mean they could be used for that setting/framework, but are more meant for other stuff as well. This means that if TFM isn't interested, or is too busy, I could look elsewhere to see who might be interested in producing it.

Been wanting to do a war setting in which two identical factions battle it out, either in space or on the surface. The surface wars would be 6mm scale, mainly fought out in the cities.

Have been working on a tank, but will need to throw it away. In the spur of the moment I unconsciously ripped off the old Land Raider design...

Nice generic WWI style tank! ;)

I don't know if you know the guys at TFM well, but I personally wouldn't touch anything made by TFM with a twelve foot pole...

After the Red Box Games debacle they have but guaranteed that I'll never ever purchase anything from them, like ever :D

I know Ed (the owner) for quite some time. Really digging their new hard plastic, and some of their alien stuff from their own Kickstarter was pretty cool. The Chibi line by Impact miniatures was also quite a success (not my cup of tea though) It's a shame it didn't work out with Red Box Games, but it was something that caused by both Tre and Ed (as you can see on this discussion).

However, I am keeping my options open for this project. Thing is that I don't have the time, energy, skills, resources, and (most importantly) the interest to do production and distribution of my designs. I'd like to spend my time creating a cool setting with a kickass storyline and awesome designs, and then have somebody more able than me take care of production and selling. Which reminds me, how awesome would it be if there was some community where model designers, writers, artists and producers/sellers can come together and find each other?

As for the tank...I'm going to drop it for now. I love tanks, but I would like to come up with some more original than the WWI cliché. I've been very tempted to design a small lander craft, but all I can think of is the Arvus Lighter.

In the meantime I've altered one of the components a bit and put them together into a building:

Sadly enough I can't show whole city blocks. I've been wanting to put a lot of these buildings together on SketchUp so I can show you what they'd look like together, but my laptop doesn't seem to handle that too well... :(
