As always I am late to the party, but will these plastic figures become available to purchase for non-backers or was this a one time thing?

That was/is the plan, I may well be stocking a large batch of these at some point.

Did the sprues get modified towards the end or do they look the same in terms of being Skinnerz and human basic infantry and transports that we saw in the original kickstarter?

I'll try to get a picture of the production sprue posted.

funny they put the two vehicles on a single injection point. Perhaps they could add more pressure to that one?

Well they will turn up but will not quite be what most people had hoped for I think, which is a pity really as this project had so much potential. The main problem I feel was the plastics company's total inexperience in making moulds for such tiny figures, they had no idea basically. Ben was constantly having to tweak the designs to fit what they could achieve rather than what he wanted thus compromising the whole original design concept. It's a bit poor really that they can accept a contract to produce a product and then totally fail to deliver that product as originally agreed on at the start. I feel very bad for Ben and TMG as a whole for how this ended up going, he had no real control over what was happening in china or what the agent was or was not doing to keep the project going. This and cost overruns with the last funder was the last nail in the coffin for TMG as a business.

Personally I'm really sad that Ben has felt the need to move on and leave us, he created some truly wonderful models for the epic community and had great plans for many more his input will be really missed in the coming years of that I have no doubt.

On a more positive note it looks like I will be handling the shipping for the funder backers once these arrive dependant on final negotiations with Ben. I will also have a batch in store for those still interested in trying them out.

I also thought I would never see them. I even voted for an earlier imperfect version from the plastic company just as a means of bringing it to an end.
Pity the last funder resulted in cost overruns that killed off TMG. Surely no one would expect someone to be financially disadvantaged by a funding campaign. Some Community members may have been happy to assist financially to help with any losses.
The loss of Ben's brilliant models is a greater price to pay. I wish him well for the future and thank him for the wonderful models he has designed and produced.

Appreciate your view on this it really has been a nightmare trying to get the plastics produced. I've been kept informed on the progress of this project regularly due to the fact I negotiated a buy in on the plastic sprue early on during development for which I would have received a small percentage cut of any profit from sales, seemed like a good deal at the time. I put several thousands pounds in the pot before the funder started to this end but as we have seen it was not a sound investment (not Bens fault in anyway) so that money has been lost/written off by myself unfortunately. :(

The extreemly long delay in getting this product produced has hobbled many of Ben's original plans including a boxed game for which the plastics would have been a core element and additional plastics for other armies with novan and novan elites both receiving plastic vehicle sprues at some stage. Sadly all these potential future goodies will now no longer see the light of day and the guy who designed all these models is no longer here to bring us any more models in the future, there was some really cool stuff in the pipeline I can tell you.

All in all a complete FUBAR for the epic community I can only hope that provided vanguard is a success for me that I can invest in the development of future additions for the DiD range via another funder or the more traditional method of paying someone out of my own pocket to design and produce stuff for me. There is still much potential to expand the range at this time, who knows I may even be able to persuade Ben to do some design work for us.

That is so sad to hear - even when we try and escape the IP of grandma wendy and do our own thing we can still encounter all kinds of trouble in the no mans land between a hobby activity and a business one.

+1 to all. The fact that we are seeing these pictures at all is proof of a tremendous amount of fighting spirit in here in general, and with the likes of Ben and others in particular. I am very happy about the fact that Vanguard stepped in and also if the civilized tone on these forums. Hobbygeeks can be quite obnoxious, but not around here.

@Nitpick

There's certainly a big difference between computer gamers and tabletop gamers. =P

So guys it's only a matter of myself and ben signing a contract and then I will be handling the packaging and shipping of the outstanding plastic sprues and metal upgrades to all funder 1 backers. I hope to start shipments sometime in february or there abouts and will be doing them in small batches as I still have vanguard to run too so can't dedicate a large amount of time to it. I should be able to have all parcels away within a month of starting with luck.

Ben will still be handling the special character pledges himself so these will not be in with the plastics.

The sprues are currently being held here in the UK by the agent and will be shipped to me soon. So finally after two plus years the plastics are imminent.

Cheers John
