Yep.

Its actually outsourced, and Staples is just the collection point. It looks like you upload online, wait a short time, and collect from your nearest Staples store.

I'm pretty sure it is a paper-based system. I assume that instead of layers of resin, it will be laminated, laser cut sheets of paper.

I believe that is actually the oldest form of rapid prototyping.

Resolution may not be a problem, but durability may be.

From the articles, they says that this is the printer. Paper with 0.1mm layer thickness and build size limited by paper size: http://www.mcortechnologies.com/products/iris/

The printer manufacturer claims the material costs are 5% of the competition (being paper), so if they sell the service for cheap enough it could open up a lot of opportunities. Especially since it can print in full colour. The video is indeed impressive. I do wonder about the software though - how long did it take to author that fully coloured landscape model?
