25 microns is pretty nice. The Eden 350 only gets 16. |

Isn't the initial lack of wax supports going to be an issue, how would you deal with anything overhanging vertically? Even so have to say I'm giddy like a school girl about this, even if I can't afford this one it looks like it's going to be a massive stride in bringing the tech to people like us with our requirements |

Its the kind of thing which would be difficult for an individual to afford, I know I'd struggle and then even if I did have one it wouldn't be constantly in use. If there was a geographically close group interested in this sort of thing then I could see that being a big help and would mean it could get to see more frequent use. |

I'm not sure about this. Those example photos of the bird cages next to the quarter aren't exactly great. And everything else they show is bigger than a typical 6mm gaming model (read: vehicle). The layer resolution is awesome, but the horizontal res leaves a bit to be desired (edited because I misunderstood the description). Then there is the fact that, even though $2700 is an amount I'd be willing to pay for something like this, there is no way I would trust any kickstarter project with that amount of cash. Hopefully the post-kickstarter cost will be less than $4k |

This... this is pretty cool. No, most people wouldn't cough up this amount to a single project, but if a group got together and split the cost up, I could see it happening. We know people capable of making designs, so that isn't an issue either. The major downside I see is that one liter of resin is going to be $150 - not a deal breaker, since you could get a lot of 6mm parts for that price, but the resupplies are going to be a hit in the wallet. I think it is pretty neat that the resin is stable until printed - no waste. Downside: Initial investment, time to print the model (one hour per 15mm height). Upsides: No molds, print on demand, unlimited design potential. |

Does anyone here have any experiance with one of these machines, will it actually print epic scale models to a reasonable level of detail and finish, if so then i would consider chipping in towards a group purchase of one of these. What do others here think? |
