Edit - In the interest of harmony, I retract my statement.

Why not just make an appropriately scaled: Swedish Bundkanon, French Char 2C, British Mark IV, and Russian/Soviet BMP-2 BTR-80's? They would be cool and usable. The infantry is pretty basic no matter what.

The only reason probably more people don't use GHQ is they are too 'true' scale and not Sci Fi heroic in size.

Since he knows some of the people at other companies, I’m sure E&C has some idea of how far he can go before running into trouble. I hope so, anyway. Trouble is bad even if you win in the end.

I think any army that looks like 20th century human infantry and tanks can be ‘gotten away with’. Yeah, the tanks remind me of the really old metal LR models, but they also remind me of real-life examples. The artillery looks like Elefants. (But similar stuff is already on sale elsewhere – how about something that reminds us of 3rd edition mobile artillery?)

As for bases, I take back what I said (that I wouldn’t buy a set without bases). It’s easy enough to see how much they cost elsewhere. If it’s cheaper for us to keep getting our bases there, then we can keep doing that.

I'd probably pick up a box or two, but I'd vastly prefer it to not have bases. Echoing the sentiment that bases are super easy to pick up or make, and more miniatures are vastly preferable.

Look, if that's not legal, what is GHQ doing?

Also, I'd buy a box or three, but honestly mostly to support E&C; not because I really need it.
But a project could easily be set up at rockethub for this, and that, I definitely would support (o:

Nice mix and figs E&C, though the ratio of infantry to vehicles might be too low perhaps?

I'd probably be in for at least a couple of sets in any case, even though I don't really need them :)

I would also be interested in a couple of sets.

I would also be interested.

I think you should stick with bases on sprue - true you can buy bases elsewhere, but the box feels more complete when all the things needed to assemble the set are in the same box.

maybe just a sprue of bases?

that can then be added to other boxes easily.

Maybe, but wouldn't increase the cost of the box significantly? Dunno...

It'd add a fiver to the box's cost I'd guess. You'd get more infantry out of that extra fiver, though.

I'd go for that. It'd also allow you to sell just the bases, which would be useful in itself.

i personally have no interest in the tanks (or really, the bases)
there's already a talented animal that makes artillery and transports that look much better, and potential slights and toestepping aside, i dont really see the need to bring out a competing product
and i dont like the way the MBTs tracks overhang at the back.

difficult to tell, but i might be interested in plastic infantry.

not, however, if i'm also required to get a bunch of armour i dont want.
hell, i dont think many people are. if they get enough footsoldiers to make an army, they'll have way more tanks than they'd need. hell, i'm a massive treadhead and even i sometimes think "enough is enough"
i know you've said before that if you dont include everything in the bundle then you'll never be able to sell enough of the unpopular stuff to turn a profit, but i still think its a terrible way to organise things

With regard to ip my understanding is the leman russ is just a rip off of a french ww2 char b1 bis looks like one and read somewhere that gw made it after getting hold of a char b1 mould. Could be wrong but the land raider is a mk 1 tank from ww1 with lasers. Dont see the french or british armies going mental about the ip. Always remember one of my ip lawyers telling the story of a client back in the day who wanted to trade mark "tasty chips". He said you can ask and claim it but you wont be able to enforce it. (they didnt get it). With gw a great deal of it is that one side is the poor gamer and who wants to take on gw. If there were substantial commercial interests involved well or sorts of arguements could be made, but for a few models no one will take on the cost of disagreeing. Also if you just copy their stuff welll.....

Evils tanks looks like a char b1 to me... I like char b1s cool tank i dont see a problem. Big tank for its day thought he germans modified a few of them i wonder if the french sued them.

Go evil

Sorry talking to much but i looked at evils side view of his tank and i think it is better, it would be more able to cross trenches i think the leman russ would tip over.

I dont think the LR would have pasted the design stage due to the tipping probelm. So it doesnt exist and you would not protect the ip of a tank that doesnt work cause you want people to copy it so their tanks would tip over and lose the war.

Try that on for size
