Charybdis ordinatus

Commentary found on DeviantArt by the artist

"A massive energy weapon for use against orbiting targets. Not really designed to travel cross country due to ground pressure, but able to shift position to avoid counter battery fire. Coupled with an orbiting network of DEW stations called Scylla for fire control."

Sorry, it took me some time to realize that you meant if the gun could be positioned in a non-firing (i.e. travelling) position.

It is a consideration, but the difficulty is somewhat daunting. Time will tell, I guess.

I also need to figure out some way of making the weaponry modular so that we can cram other interesting stuff on there for Ordinatus fun. Perhaps an Imperator sized plasma cannon? Or a Warmonger sized vengenace cannon? Well, maybe not the cannon. The design implies non-recoil weaponry. Oooh! A big-ass railgun! It could use all of the juice stored up in the capacitor cars.

Oooo, I like the idea of a modular weapon system.

Some more work. We're in an awkward stage.

Hey Otterman, I was thinking of ways you could add a bit of imperial flair to your model. How hard would it be to modify the structural framing on the platform arm into something similar to the cross bracing on the necromunda bulkheads?

I'm trying to stick close to the source art for this particular Ordinatus. When the time comes for a right-and-proper 'Albanian' Ordinatus, those bulkheads will serve well as inspiration.

Wakey wakey, Charybdis! Show your progress to the nice people.

I had to choke down the bile while working on the tracks, but found therapy by copying GHQ's M1A1 style.
