The "orc" name is of course free (technically, even orK is not owned by GW, but I think it's still off-limit). Gobblers is a GREAT name I think (whose idea was that ?), but I didn't find anything as instantly convincing for their bigger brethren. We need something suitably guttural, preferentially slightly threatening and monosyllabic.
I thought "Roks" could be something. Still tied to the "space orc" theme while nowhere near as goofy, clearly different from recognisable trademarks. Could possibly be tied to nice background, for example by giving them a mineral hardened hide*. I'd like to point out that it would also help get them a background distinct from similar Grandma Wendy stuff.


*before anyone tells me this is silly, many animals do it IRL (crabs come to mind), while walking fungus actually are not too common these days.

My hope – and expectation – of crowdfunders in general is that they’ll be used to start product lines, not sell things once and then they’re gone. Only a few perks should be unique to the campaign, imo.

Epic: Hive Development Thread

Reavers sounds very good to me.
Though as my purchases were mainly designed to start an Epic: Armageddon army I'll be referring to them as... Orks!

About a week or so ago, whenever the first £8000 stretch goal of getting free stuff was first set, I was a bit sad as I thought it was too lofty and unreachable a goal. I am absolutely delighted (and still a little bit shaken) that it was not only reached, but so utterly smashed!

I like reavers also as it is a good descriptive name for what these guys should be all about. Raiding, looting and other general naughtyness. Just a general sense of space pirate about them.

Now i'm looking forward to the next kickstarter featuring the Reavers/roks/skinnerz smaller airplanes and lots of plastic ruins. Because thoose 2 things seems like alot of people are looking for when you look at tradesections in forums (and thats also something i would be very, very interested in!!)
