Uhm, with that sprue you could make a 12cm tall tower, plus two 4cm high hab cubes, for £8

I'm a bit confused - what proportion of the sprue was shown in the render? A quarter? It appears to show two 4cm walls and two 6cm walls.

8 pounds = 4 sprues worth at 2 pounds each.

Hi

It is not to rain on your parade. I think it is great with more indies doing more 6mm stuff and if you produce some I would probably get some. But I also have to say that the original prices for FW buildings were 9£ for an Administratum and 12£ for a Censorium Tower.

And that is a great and detailed building complete in resin.

I still think the accesory sprue would be a good idea though. As there will be one door on each side of the tower with that sprue.

Good luck though!

I must confess that I am not really interested in buildings.

Many people are proposing grimdark buildings. And I know personally I just plan to do mine the FW way : casting intact bits from GW ruins and composing intact walls molds with it. Walls being flat and easily castable with one-side molds, I think the best value walls you could make would be just to sell one sided flexible Latex mold for plaster (hirst-arts way). There might be a market for plastics, but I wouldn't actually be that confident.

Aye, I'm aware of that.

Attached is a picture of what £8 would get you with that basic sprue.

The oblong on the ground is the size of an Epic / Exodus Wars sized unit base.

All do-able. I've put in a version with closed windows above.

And this is an example of what you could do with four sprues if you liked stacking them up...

Anyways as an idea/concept I thought it was interesting.

I think parapets, buttresses, modular doors etc could all go on to an accessories sprue.

I think the plastic sprue buildings like that are a great idea. Lots of people keep proposing building ideas like this but it never seems to eventuate in a tangible form that I've noticed so far. I also like the idea that plastic frames would be quite light compared to resin or metal, and you could build quite a large urban area for what seems like a reasonable price to me.

building sprue looks good and holds promise but a building accessory sprue is like sexual chocolate!

Looks sweet. So ten stories worth of buildings (more if you make larger footprint buildings) for £8. Whereas the old FW Admin building was 2/3 stories high? Seems really good value to me.

Given the lack of decent, affordable plastic/resin 6mm buildings (DZC WTF?????) these should go down really well.

What about having the building sides with no doors in them (just windows) and having the doors as separate bits on the accessory sprue that would just fit over some of the lower windows?

Matt
