Defenately prefer this one to the first one i think the extra detail and the wing struts helps convey a more grimdark beefy look, now if you could do a version with a squarer framed cockpit like the thunderbolt design i think it would help it fit in with existing aircraft models.

I'd like to see thinner wings to if possible.

I would probably use these as second line PDF fighters.

Stuka/A10 hybrid yes please. :)

I like the WWII vibe, but they definitely look propellerdriven still. Perhaps enlarging the exhausts to make it clear that they are jets?

Like, but agree with above - looks like its missing its props. How about wing mounted ramjets like the Lancastrian ? Don't need to stick to the inspiration too closely do you ?

As an old school Epic collector I had also wondered about the chance of duel scale ?? Any chance of some 1:500ish versions too ? Does the CAD method make size variations easy or is there problems with that ?

I think I can start with this. Also I'll do something with the nose to make its status as a jet intake more obvious.

I'd like to make it a recognizable Spitfire in silhouette if possible, which means keeping the centre-mounted engine.

Technically possible, but it'd double the production setup cost for what I'd assume would be little gain in extra custom.

Sounds good; With something like the exhausts on a Phantom F4 it should be possible to keep the silhoutte distinctly spitfirish too, they're only obvious when seen from behind.

Maybe you could do a custom print for someone if they were so inclined to pay for it? Not me, I like true-scale myself :D

I'm a fan of true scale also that's why i play 6mm. I find it interesting that 6mm seems to be the only scale played where underscale models are readily accepted when the small scale should allow proper scale playing pieces of even the largest warmachines.

I could certainly arrange that. For any of my models, really.

Well, your 6mm inf is hardly 6mm anyway. More like 8 mm in many cases. I find the idea of truescale a bit strange, considering the enormity of big warmachines and also the tiny weapon ranges. I like it playable and big enough to show decent detail, meaning embiggening the smallest and debiggening the biggest. I'm not turning my Warlords and gargants into dollhouses anyway.

Understand your desire to stick to the original, but I think you will have to alter some crucial features to make it pop and transcend the wwIi icon.

6mm to the eyeline is my metric. Just as 28mm models are generally 28mm to the eyeline.

Spitefire is looking great. If you want to increase it's Jet-ness, providing secondary air intakes along the side of the fuselage would probably do that. so you'd kinda widen the positions, and move the guns and struts a bit further along the wing, something like this

__o(O)o__

this would also widen the tail section enough for you to exaggerate the thrusters a bit, making the jet engines more prominent there too

also, canting the outer hood of the nose inwards would probably decrease the look of a propeller too (so profile would be more like /> than the current ]>

I'm not a fan of the shape of the SkinnerzJet wings. i think it gets too pointy at the ends, and is too swept back*, but otherwise very much like their look too

(*sorry, no charming ascii art for that one)
