Hoping for the best. I hope that time, not money, is the issue here. Communication rate has slowed lately. Those plastics would have been nice, though.

We still intend to deliver on outstanding indiegogo orders and free gifts.

We've had yet another setback on the plastics (warped vehicles in the last production batch) so we're hoping to get that fixed for free since it's the factory's fault.

Bluddy 'ell.

No wonder me emails and things were going unanswered.

With this news, I'm not so worried about getting freebies and outstanding pledges (in my case only a few pounds - I've wasted more before), I just want Troublemaker to stay up, especially with Steel Crown going down so recently. Both for livelihoods (as much as is had in 6mm wargaming) and for the Epic community.
Can't say I've been a big customer in the past, but the additions to the Novan Elites in this latest Indiegogo got me gearing up to buy a whole new army. Even clearing out my old Epic SMs to make room and clean the slate.

So, to Vanguard then? For now?

Yeah the way that's stated coupled with the recent low volume of communication and internet presence makes that come off more like "we're going out of business" not "we're outsourcing the boring part of running a store front so we make make models". In the absence of information peoples imaginations run wild and can adversely effect sales (Vanguard).

Irrespective of what the scenario is rethinking the communication strategy might be in order just to bring clarity to things. If you're shutting up shop then let us know (DiD will be missed).

Just my 2cents...

EDIT: Case in point alarmist posts (as the FUD machine spins up)

Guys TMG will still exist but in a more limited capacity, from now on all DiD models including the funder 4 range will be available via my webstore once my first batch order comes in. I've had to submit the order to the casters as TMG has insufficient stock to fill my order so it's down to how busy the casters are as to when we may see orders opened up. Hopefully it will be mid november at the latest but I can make no promises.

I'm stuck at the moment waitiing for both TMG and Onslaught stock to arrive it is getting a little frustrating as you can imagine.

As to additions to the range that remains a possibility but it will depend on sales turn over if i'm to invest in 3D design work and mould manufacture. Can't say if Ben wiill consider any more crowdfunders or not but that remains a possibility also.

I have a good working relationship with Ben so please don't worry to much over TMG withdraw from the retail side the range will remain active for as long as interest remains and sales of course. The plastics if sorted will become available in store too once all defects have been eliminated from production.

Regards John

Thank you John for quick answer and comprehensive information. We're all appreciate that. I wish you both good luck with your business. :)

BTW: In your webstore, on first page with TMG range Novans and Skinnerz, the left side menus are overlapping the content. Other pages are unaffected. It shows only with filter set to 24 per page. I use newest versions of Chrome browser and IE 11.

Thanks for the clear update John, much appreciated.

I've not looked around the forum in a while, this is just a thread I get updates on, is there already a thread that clarifies/advertises your position as prime purveyor for TMG instead of TMG.

And what happened to Steel Crown, they had loads in the pipeline?

After months of ignored emails+missing orders SCP closed. I believe several people were interested in taking it on but were put off by an exorbitant valuation.

@ brother_bethor, I would have responded earlier but have no internet login access whilst at work so can only respond evenings and weekends. Thanks for the heads up about the site i'll contact my IT guy about that.

@ Biff, to answer your question no no official announcement until today although I have been listing TMG as a part of my inventory for a week or so now and my webstore has also been active with adding the range too. I wanted Ben to make the official announcement as it's still his baby and i'm just a retailer.

SCP not 100% sure what happened there but it is a great loss to the community.

@ primarch, indeed the plastics saga has become somewhat of an epic tale for sure.

Thanks all John

Hey, I wasn't complaining. Compared to other companies, your response time is turbo-lightning fast. I'm glad to help :)

I am probably getting ahead of myself and not sure this is entirely where to post this but as this is where the discussion seems to be taking place.....

I have been playing Space Marine/Epic on and off for 25 years. It has however always remained one of my greatest passions. Really started to get back into it with all the new goodies that were out there and invested a small fortune into the Wave 4 kickstarter. With the loss of Steel Crown (although I am sure these ranges will resurface) and clearly the pressure it has placed on Ben / TMG I would like to do what I can to support and protect these vital assets to our hobby.

Now one thing I can do is simply buy more miniatures, collect more/bigger armies, but I already have a mountain of lead (probably wont stop me though!).

The other thing is supporting, developing, and more importantly expanding the community. Just reading through the forums, rightly or wrongly, I would draw the conclusions that there is an active tournament scene generally fought as stand alone tournaments or as part of sci-fi dedicated shows, ie captive audience already. What I would like to see is the community pushing to put on displays and participation games at more general shows which will attract more players to the 6mm Sci-Fi scene. With increasing player base you will get increasing and more ongoing sales which will support the like of Vanguard Miniatures to provide a sustainable source of existing models and future developments.

I know a few people on the forum have met and talked to me and are aware I have for several years put on 6-8 painting demos (of generally 6mm figures) at a number of shows across the 'Midlands' area. By and large I am supported by generous figure donations from Baccus 6mm, and Peter is aware when I am at a show as his sales are significantly better both at the show, and more importantly in the weeks following the show.

Case in point is Derby / Donnington show a couple of weeks ago when I painted up the first of the wave 4 goodies. On the Sunday half the discussions I had were about 6mm Sci-Fi gaming and painting predominantly with current non-players of 6mm Sci-Fi. I can only imagine what interest a Demo or Participation game may have elicited.

Obviously I can either doing a painting demo as usual or heading up a demo game. Anyway I am thinking ahead to next year and in particular the Hammerhead show at Newark which is a participation only show. I am certain I will still have lots of TMG (and others) figures to paint, and would hope to have Skinners and Novan forces I could supply for a demo game if anyone was interested in me approaching the organizers.

There are other shows where a presence could make a huge impact on creating an influx of new players, which in turn with generate increased sales and keep our little miniature outlets viable.

Before I get lynched I have to say this forum is motivational in itself and its clear there has been a huge investment in time and effort from a number of individuals from army list production to playtesting.

Just my thoughts. Do people have any other ideas on how the community could help the 6mm Sci-Fi player base increase?

@Steve54, Thanks for the update, just read found the post from Tom about Steel Crown, he must have been gutted. I can well believe the high asking price if it covered the IP as a whole not just sculpts/moulds.

@moredakka, Cool, makes it clear now where to buy further TMG goodness as I'd have gone straight to them for a few reinforcements otherwise.

@Cranium27, Well this is the best place for the post until you start one in the Tournaments, Conventions and Meet Ups forum ;D

viewforum.php?f=88

Painting Demo plus Demo games going in tandem with the presence of a trader with 6mm stock could be the approach if enough people were coordinated and enthusiastic, especially coordinated. Does anyone know if moredakka is prepared to travel with stock in future?
