Least I could do after all those design alterations I requested were actually implemented.

I am on the side of Sawbones on this.

I would prefer people say "I like the aesthetic, personally" rather than using "rule of cool" as justifying aegis for whatever stupid idea I've come up with lately. :-)

I like it. Personally.

*because it is cool*

I just find it odd that a seemingly heavily armored tank has an exposed driver where incoming fire might be concentrated.

I don't mean that this should be taken as gospel, but Otto Carius thought it was worth the extra visibility for the tank commander to pop his head out of the hatch. He felt Soviet tank losses were so high in part because they liked to fight buttoned-up.

That's standard Israeli practice even today

Having had a good look/think about the Novan elite specialists, I think those heavy support guys could use some ammo hoppers or battery packs for those weapons. It seems strange for such big guns to lack an appropriate ammo source... Or are you going for a mass effect style mass driver system that doesn't need a large amount of ammo?

EDIT:

Also, would it be possible to sculpt a light to medium (minimi or gpmg style) laser machine gunner in one of the infantry sets? It's a niche that I don't think is offered anywhere on the scifi infantry market at the moment for those of us that would like something other than bfo autocannon type stuff.. I would imagine it would be relatively simple to repurpose most of the basic design of the sniper models? Not that I actually know anything about that. Lol

Bottomline, you can see much better with your head sticking out of the turret hatch than buttoned up ... Better visability means you may see a target more quickly than he sees you.
