Single big one or maybe an AA set of two or four?

Like some sort of Nebelwerfer-42? Just a bunch of tubes sitting on the tracks? It won't need a fancy cradle like that artillery.

Or do you want a single big missile?

I would like to have options for:
Long-range howitzer (you've done that)
Shorter-range siege gun (you've done that too)
AA version of some sort (maybe a thinner gun, more angled to the sky? Like an 88? Or something multi barreled)
Missile version (multi- for a "Disrupt" style weapon, and single- for a one-shot Big Boom style weapon)

Of course, that's a lot of parts and understandable if you don't want to do that. I like the option of interchangeability, myself.

Hmm. Not a big fan. I think I prefer the open tracks.

Me too.

I have to say the original tracks look the best to my eyes, the covered tracks make it look too modern, exposed tracks all the way!

You mean the flexi-belt tracks, or the grimdarkened segmented tracks?

flexi-belt tracks look best by a considerable way IMO...

The low-res sample is a big, fat fonker. I'm going to trim it up a bit.

I have to say that I like the original version - the open design on the drive wheel/bogey section just looks more in line with the rest of the design. Once you cover that, something breaks that aesthetic. Maybe it's the fact that the gun design looks low tech and, once you cover the tracks and drive, you modernize that part of the design and mixing the two just looks a little off.

It's probably a personal preference thing though. I view this gun as being something a trench/siege army would use, and low-tech fits in with that theme.

Obviously, if everyone else likes the design run with it.

Considers original picture more...

I had been concentrating on the track links not the running gear. Agree with BM that the WW1 style is better than the closed in section on the grimdarkened one. In this design it was the upward bend which i didn't like - the look of rubber belt jarred with the steampunkish feel.

Would grimdark links (with no bend) on the first set of running gear be better/possible ?

For the sake of completeness - i vote no to track guards.

If Forge World gets to cram two pylons together, then so do I.

Edit - Discretion is the better part of valor. 'Tis a finer thing I do today, etc.

The holder/adapter ball on the bottom is my design. The gun is an altered doomsday gun similar to the Necron ark thingy.

I'll eventually print this via Shapeways, then stare forlornly at it, wishing I could paint well.

Edit - whoa, $31 for a FUD print. I'll wait until I hit the lottery.

No need for the laser to get his hands dirty mate, I have that covered.

Cheers
