I think that 6mm walker tanks would be great. They seem to be popular in 28mm with a variety of alternate WWII games (DUST, for example) and something in 6mm along those lines is currently rare and could be cool.

For me to back a Kickstarter, and looking only from a selfish viewpoint of wanting cool stuff rather than supporting a good idea, I would need to concept sketches and maybe CAD drawings, but I certainly wouldnt need completed miniatures or even finalised greens of minis.

I personally would love to see more of what this line would look like. With my BFG forces somewhat complete baring a few additions I might randomly acquire, I really have been thinking of getting back into mecha.

Well, still trying to find someone to do the concept sketches for the primary mecha, though I did find some interesting art that I like for an opposing force. I figured that in the unlikely event that everything takes off to the point where I will not be able to do anymore mechs of the base force, I'll add a secondary force. I emailed this guy asking if I could purchase the rights to utilize this art.

I like these designs as while they are not traditional mecha styles, they could fit well as either very alien or far future human based on your ground forces and tanks. So still looking for a concept artist who can work with me to get some designs for the main force, and still plotting out the kickstarter itself.

Lemme ask another question $10 for a 45mm tall mecha fair? It's about the price of a battletech figure. At that price I'll need to sell something like 60 copies to break even. Most of that expense is materials.

Also, here is the original artists page for the MRF figure, if any of these others scream make me, I can contact him and ask.

Woohoo, found an artist that has experience and that I can afford! His previous works look great, so as soon as I have something new and unique I'll post it up :D

Alright, everything is lined up. I have worked out my expenses and timeline. I do have one question though. Starting Goal? I can do 4k and have two mechs, the one above (An MRF, Multi-Role Fighter), and a non-transformable multipart mech (Combat Armor). Or I could do 3k and have just the MRF. I feel like it creates a better image to do the 2 starting mechs. Stretch Goals are worked out to every 1k, being a new Combat Armor, an accessory, an MRF, rinse and repeat. The accessory may seem minor, but it creates the money buffer needed to make the MRF as they cost 3x as much to do, but still creates more options. Accessories will be things like shoulder weapons, other heads and arms, a tank turret to go with the tank legs (so as to create a tank instead of a mech)

It would be pretty neat if the mech parts are interchangeable kind of like heavy gears or armored core. Also, stackable buildings! Think of all the tactics and stories you can come up like blowing up parts of skyscrapers to crush your foes or hiding in waiting to ambush.

All of the Combat Armor mecha are going to have interchangeable components just like Armored Core. We'll be setting up all the limbs and waists with ball joints of a standard size so parts can be swapped between mecha.

generally, a lower initial goal is better, as a lot of people won't fund unless they think it'll be successful (paradoxically).

If you start with the full stretch goal list being quite clear, then you might be albe to get away with a single starter, otherwise i agree go for the pair.

Draft of the CAM-1RA mech. This would be the other model to lead the kickstarter with. I did ask him to adjust the hands and have them fixed in place.

Oh wow. Now you have my interest. How tall are these going to be?

Generally about 40-45mm, though some models may be shorter. The next for instance is based on a treaded lower torso and will be a lot shorter overall.
All the parts of the Combat Armor mecha will have the ability to swap amongst each other. This does not count the transformable mechs though, they will be more stagnant. Though the heads should still be swappable.
