That's...impressively unimpressive.

A shame, as plastic infantry is so much less hassle to assemble than metal. But it isn't worth this kind of trouble.

I dunno, seems that the problems are not really to do with plastics per se, but lacking a reliable Chinese manufacturing partner. It happens, you learn from it, you move on.

That's a shame - don't Wargames Factory have a factory with hard plastic producing capability out in china? Would they be an option (unless they were the ones you were using)?

write the whole sorry saga up and host in on the website. You'll get a fair bit of traffic from boardgame designers and amateur miniature makers who are interested in plastics via kickstarter/indiegogo.

We're going to do a full overview and status check when we have the mould in our hands.

We don't want to jump the gun with harming the reputation of the UK-based consultants we've been using.

We won't be doing plastics again unless we get the cut done in the west, I think.

Hmmm, that is a real disappointment. Is there any chance that if you do make the molds from wave 1 into metal that you segregate the various units and sell them separately per type: skinner trucks separately, novan APCs separately, faction troops separately, etc.?

I only ask because 1.) that is how you have done all your last two crowdfunders, and 2.) I unfortunately missed out on wave 1 and am interested in specific units but do not want to have to buy units from factions I don't even need. Specifically I am looking at the skinner AA trucks and flatbeds with heavy guns.

-I just realized that this may be a non-issue anyways as I assume you wouldn't be using the same casting/sprues for metal. Lol.

We have a scheduled conference call tomorrow on the mould status, hoping to have something better to say then about when we can get it into the UK.

I don't think we'll be re-doing the plastic units in metal in the near future, we have other units we want to get to!
But we will price the plastics very realistically when they do arrive, so that even if you only want some of the contents it'll still be cheaper than buying the metal equivalents.

Duly noted, I'll have to keep an eye out then.

Hope that conference call goes well.

Me too. At this point we just want the mould trucked to the airport without being dropped and/or being transported uninsured.

Any updates as to the mould location, and any idea if there is a possibility of them being "done" by Christmas? (only wondering as that's when I'll next be back in the UK and able to pick them up from my "shipped to" address, otherwise [as usual] no time pressure from me - I still have bucket loads of other stuff to paint ;-) )

I believe Ben is on holiday at the moment and may not be able to reply.

If they're not out by Christmas I'll be down at our UK consultants throwing mould tools at them.

I'm on holiday until Monday, when I'll be getting an update on the production.
