Man, you're getting better and better at it!

Unfortunately this is a hobby for me, and I don't have the time or resources for managing orders, production and delivery of the models myself, so it's most likely this will stay at shapeways!
I know what you mean, I'm a bit in the same predicament! I'm looking for a possible external partner who might be interested in my miniatures for that very reason.

All in all, though, printed of shapeways a single complete cruiser would be around 25 euros, while a weaponless one around 20 euros; that's not much more than what a metal cruiser did cost from GW, I think, and if sold in lots of 2 they would cost even less...
Hmm, the main problem is that your product still looks inferior to what GW released. Not saying that your designs are bad! I believe your ships are on par to the stuff that GW (and even FW) have released. So the quality of your designs isn't the problem. The main problem lies in the quality of the print. Shapeways' printers just aren't able (yet) to deliver the kind of quality that will really do justice to your models, which is a real shame. Because of that, it becomes a bit difficult to justify rates that are equal, if not higher, to what GW charge.
I think you're starting to run into the limits of what's possible at the moment. So whilst designwise you can go crazier and crazier (which I would love to see), the quality of the print, and the costs, are really holding you back.

Looking very good! With a couple ofsmall modifications that Buzz saw would become a kickass Ork Ramship *wink wink*
I know this comes from another thread, but it kinda relates to the point I'm trying to make here.

I'm running into similar problems for my
Ork ship. To truly do the model justice, I'd need to have it printed elsewhere, which would be quite expensive, meaning I'd have to cast and sell it in order for it to make any sense.
