Here's my latest model, a Space Trader cruiser, 9 cm long.

I've also made different prows in the same style, with a large cannon or six torpedo bays.

For this one, I'll probably wait and test print a copy before putting it on sale, although it shouldn't have any printing problems...

As always, let me know what you think!

Looks great! Each one seems better than the last. The rear is a little small-looking; not sure exactly how to put it, but I think it needs a little more "junk in the trunk" so to speak.

Are the side panels of suitable size that we might successfully raid our bits boxes?

How much did you hollow it out to keep the price reasonable?

Thank you everyone!

Now for some answers:

That was somewhat deliberate, since the middle (larger) part is, at least in my eyes, where the cargo is stored; I think, though, that I could do a version with a larger derrière and call it a Space Trader Battlecruiser!

Yes, the batteries slots are 19mm wide and 9mm tall, so you can raid as much as you like! ;)

As much as possible, within the limits of the material!
That's one of the reasons why I want to test print it first, to make sure the model is structurally strong enough; frigates I made with the same level of hollowing are fine, so it shouldn't be a problem...

And here's the Battlecruiser!

I enlarged the rear part and the engines, and I changed the dorsal section to make space for some turrets.

Here's a couple of views:

And a rear view, to show its enlarged, ehrm, "assets":

Finally, a comparison between the Battlecruiser (left) and the cruiser (right):

Oh my, I'll see what I can do... Not sure when I'll be able to do that, though! :D

Are you thinking of small cruisers of the "fearless" kind, or the "enduring" kind?

Ha! Yeah I've been wanting some merchant styled light cruisers for ages now. Especially those that launch star fighters

You're right, I can't leave a fleet half made.. :)

In the meantime, this is a little modification that I made to my Elite frigates, that I guess could work for chapters that have something to do with wings....

That wing would also work for those ships patterned after a shipyard that rhymes with Ross. They should get added to the bits service as well!

I didn't think about that.... Are you thinking escort-sized or cruiser-sized?

I could do some wings that fit on the end of the side fins of common generic plastic cruisers....

I was thinking cruiser. It'd go well with those after market voss-esque prows that are around. Something to make the wings fit in more with the Not-Voss aesthetics would be handy.

I think I can do that, tomorrow I'll try something out...

In other news, my resident Techpriest informed me that Space Merchant vessels have both long and short range gun batteries, so I updated the model (please note, this is the thinner version):
