Hello,

I am a long time Epic player and Grey Knights fan. They are my favorite 40K chapter and my gaming partner and I have been dreaming of doing a full Epic scale Grey Knights Chapter. Unfortunately there are no really good options with which to do so. The FW resin casts are too delicate and expensive, not to mention rare to collect anything more than a few stands. The Onslaught and TMG are ok, but really not close enough. I have seen pictures floating around forums of superbly done Grey Knights and am willing to pay well and be discreet when obtaining some. If you are willing to sculpt or sell some that have already been sculpted to me I would be very grateful and would appreciate it if you PM me. They would be for personal use only and not resale.

Well I was going to start with about 3 companies, so ~250-500 marines and see if the sculptor or seller I get them from works out, is reliable etc. But yes, looking to make a large Grey Knights force. My other chapters of Marines are about 500 strong, though i am still looking for forumware marines and forumware chaos.

I actually have some of those Grey Knights you're talking about. In fact I got some of the last of it before it went out of production quite some time back. They were actually more expensive than the FW (now mostly knock-offs) on eBay. But well worth it. I would give up on the idea as finding even a company worth of these let alone an entire chapter worth is going to be like finding rocking horse s*@t, as well as going to cost you in the region of £1000.

You really don't need that many bearing in mind that Grey Knights are an elite chapter and cost so many points. I have 160 or so and that easily exceeds 3000 points with vehicle support.

Beyond that it's a vanity project when really if you were doing a bigger game you'd be having GK as an ally to other chapters like in the Vraks campaign.

Wow that's a real shame. I always wanted to do my favorite chapter in my favorite game system. Perhaps I should re-adjust my expectations and focus on obtaining a decent looking set of troops to represent 1-2 companies or around ~3000 points. It's unlikely Grey Knights would ever deploy in great numbers anyways and they are probably more likely to fight at 28mm scale numbers more often. Still, love the idea of an army of epic knights facing off against a combined daemon horde complete with daemon titans.
