That actually works as is. Of course one can go "further" with it but it does just show the quality of your components intrinsically have. :)

Sorry- that was a Simpsons reference. A poor attempt at humour. I had already subscribed to your thread, and I await with interest to see what you come up with.

This could get expensive for me!!

:)

Hahaha, sorry James, I'm somewhat behind on Simpsons quotes! I blame the language barrier... :D

Ok, as I already said, I have the attention span of a sleepy toddler, but this is a good one; after a conversation with a very kind gentleman, I've been wondering what would happen if one of the less "orthodox" chapters were to requisition an old grand cruiser to use as a battle barge.

Here's the result! A retrofitted grand cruiser, with the correct battle barge armaments (side batteries, dorsal bombardment cannon, prow launch bays and prow torpedoes).

Allow me to present you, the Grand Barge!

Thanks! This time, I'll have it test printed once before making it available... Just to make sure Shapeways doesn't pull out any funny tricks!

I was thinking of changing the bridge, making a new one more "cathedral" like... I'll see what I can come up with!

This weekend there will be no updates, as I'll be at Salute... If anyone is coming, we can say hi! If you guys want, I could bring a couple of ships to show...

Hrmm. The Grand Barge looks really good. I hope the test print goes well. It looks like it would be a worthy purchase.

I would also be interested in the "Elite Corps" Cruiser as well if it is available as well.

Thank you guys! I'm glad you like it!

I enjoy 3d modelling quite a lot, although now work doesn't leave me much free time for it...

Now that I'm back from Salute, hopefully by this weekend I'll be able to show an alternative bridge for the Grand Barge!

Just checked your shop. Happy to see the Elite Corps Quick Response Cruiser up for sale.

How much do you anticipate the Grand Barge being? How long a wait do you anticipate before you put it up for sale?

Hi there,

Yes, the first version of the quick response cruiser is available!

The version B of the cruiser should be available, too, in a couple of days; for the Grand Barge, I would prefer to make a test print before making it available, although all the components have been correctly printed in other models.

For the price, it's going to be similar to that of my grand cruisers, I think with an euro or 2 more due to the larger wings...

In other news, do you guys remember the only variant of the Rising Star cruiser that Shapeways rejected as non-printable? As an experiment, I re-uploaded the exact same file, and tried to order it myself, and guess what? Sorcery! The model was printed perfectly with no hassle!

So if you guys ever happen to buy a model that gets rejected as non-printable don't worry, it's probably just one of the Shapeways technicians having a lazy day :)
