Do I dare to admit it’s just something I made up to justify using a bunch of tanks I had on hand? A story about he idea of the Hundred Years’ War being prolonged indefinitely has been in my list of potential comics ideas for some time, but cramming a personal story into it hasn’t worked out very well - like crap, truth be told. But the idea itself is fairly sound from a sci fi perspective.

I think you are doing yourself down here - its actually a really imaginative way of creating a theme that will keep you inspired and painting.

If you create a little more of the backdrop, it might inspire the building of allied or enemy formations, important locations, characters etc. Depends how much time you want to put into it and far you want to take it.

Expanding on a medieval theme, you might want to create a few Noble Houses and give each a colour scheme.

Whatever you decide, just make sure you take some pics because the models painted to date are excellent !

At a minimum, I have the Duc d’Anjou and the Duke of Burgundy, and the Duke of Lancaster and he Earls of Sussex and Doncaster as main players. Louis XXIII himself may take the field in a Chevalier, a gigantic robot the French favor for combat.

I thought to share this group with you. Sort of grimdark alternate history stuff. It's mainly at 28mm scaled stuff, but I'm hoping to encourage people there to also explore other scales in that aesthetics. I've got a feeling that your 3mm scaled Thousand Years' War would fit perfectly for this sort of thing.

Thanks, I joined, poked around, and it didn’t make any sense. All the root vegetable stuff was an inside joke I wasn’t able to get my mind around - clearly I don’t find tubers as incredibly funny as they do, so I’m obviously missing something. And being purely 28mm from the looks of it I’m going to steer clear.

The whole #turnip28 thing is sort of a post-apocalyptic Napoleon era thing with root vegetables.

Yeah...I know the whole INQ28/grimdark thing is primarily aimed at 28mm scale, for now. What I'm kinda hoping for is that the level of converting, narrative play, painting, etc that is seen in that scene is also 'transplanted' to smaller scales such as 6mm and 3mm.

A fine objective but from the looks of it, that is not the place to do it. Its got “28” right in the name and everyone there is going on and on without exception about turnips and parsnips and carrots and such.
