Been working on these guys for far too long so I finally sat down and finished them. They are the Kraków Winged Hussars, a unit of highly-trained Polish mercenaries, and like their namesakes, they are all-out, take-no-prisoners warfighters with a reputation for martial excellence throughout both Earth and the Near Colonies.

This is the basic combined-arms maneuver element of the Hussars, which they refer to as an "Eskadra." It consists of an expanded Mechanized Infantry platoon, an Armored Platoon, support and command elements (an AAA missile vehicle and an 84mm RAP mortar carrier), and, in this case, a pair of armed ISSCV Downships for close air support and EVAC in case of emergency - each Downship can carry half the infantry platoon, or a single tank or APC (with or without its squad mounted).

The Hussars are veterans of campaigns in Ukraine, the Russian Confederation, Sulaco and Costaguana, Mexico, Cuba, and North Africa during the First Upheaval. They were also instrumental in the defense of Tycho on the Moon during the Cresinon War, and have locked blades with the Regimento Acero on more than one occasion, most especially on Io and Ganymede during the now-infamous Battle of the Argentine Moons.

I'm already planning some expansion for the basic force here - an airmobile platoon, a medevac element, and a superheavy dropship to carry the whole unit around.

Excellent, really like the bases and landers.

Do you have an overview of your entire 3mm collection anywhere?

Very nicely done ! 3mm really is probably one of the best scales for large modern/futuristic battles at Company/Battalion scale, IMO ... Then of course the other best is 6mm.

It's certainly the most cost effective. Itemized cost for the entire Eskadra here is probably about $6US, including plastic and pumice grit for the bases.

@Apocolocyntosis: I don't, actually, have any pictures of the whole set, and some parts have come and gone as my preferences for things like colors, basing, labeling and so on have changed. But I could probably put together a group photo sometime. Also, the group is constantly evolving - I have an armored unit I'm doing now in a white and black scheme that may or may not be from any or all of the a United Nations, an alliance called ENSPUN, or a Lunar colony at Clavius. So any such photo would be a snapshot at a given moment.

Id be interested in seeing some massed shots even if they were only a snapshot – looks like you have a great mix of schemes and groups.

Do you use any of the larger vehciles and mechs in the background with the 3mm?
I saw that this person mixs and matches a lot of scifi scales for walkers and super heavies: http://leadnobleed.blogspot.co.uk/2013/ ... et-up.html
