I was packing these away the other day and took a few quick snaps.
I started the project at the end of last year but got sidetracked on to 6mm.

I've never seen such small scale for wargaming - it's like a travel addition of War of the Rings!

I've always felt that at 2mm you may as well be playing with painted card markers. Nicely painted though :)

Its going to be a mixed scale project, i want two large universal armies for all ages of middle earth which will be supplemented with Miar, Valar and nasties like Nazgul (when i paint them all up i will have 9 ring wraiths but the witch king is a 6mm figure) and spiders.
Miar and Valar will be mainly 6 and 10mm figs, mumakil are 6mm elephants, Morgoth will be a 28 mm Sauron,Balrogs 15mm demons and so on.
As for the lack of detail on the rank and file that suits me as they will essentially be cannon fodder.

I also have steered away from 2mm since a dwarf in that scale would pass as an sci-fi battle robot. BUT again i see how wrong I usually are and with nice painting everything just looks right :) very good job. Love it.

Fantastic work! I have a Middle Earth itch, and you just made things worse. I have not considered 2mm, and I am not sure I will travel that path, but your work looks stunning.

Did you use the irregular 2mm Battle of the Five Armies as a starter or did you just buy x amount of this code and that code. What rules are you thinking of using for these. I have been considering Irregular's set and rules combo unless I opt for strictly 6mm.

I got most of them at a show, as far as i can remember there wasnt a set as such on hand so we picked out as much as possible that fit the bill and the Irregular guys cast me more stuff up for the following day.
I think the largest eagles and the Dragons were kallistra 6mm.
I must get back to this but i keep bouncing from one project to another.
i will probably use warmaster as i picked up an e-bay copy on the cheap and the Irregular rules seemed a bit odd.

I have picked this project up again and will soon have about double the amount of bad guys shown in the pics.
Hope to have pics up in Feb.
