began playing with the idea of a mars explorer fleet bases around second line vessels in the background. the idea being that the navy wouldnt care about these vessels being taken from warzones... even if they know there no longer working for the imperial navy....

list:;

3 x Endeavour light cruisers (120x3) 360
1 x Endurance light cruiser                 120
1 x Exorcist grand cruiser                   230
6 x Cobras                           (30x6)    180
Admiral                                               100

total                                                  990

any ideas or comments?

For exploration purposes, I guess it's ok although  I wonder at the use of Voss-pattern shipping. Wouldn't Dauntless' be of better use?

You could also try one of these - an Ad Mech Explorator class ship, based on an SM cruiser.

I like the concept of your fleet Novaguard. The voss style will give you an unique face instead of the more generic Dauntless.

Are you gonna scratchbuild the Voss-prows and light cruisers?

@ Vanvlak, nice little additions to the strike cruiser.

im scratch building the light cruisers, the idea is to use the voss ship rules to represent older, and redundant style ships to the current imperial fleet... il try to keep the fell of the voss prow, but my skills are no way good enough for a true atttemt... :(

well, iv actually just finished the light cruisers and started painting them... hopefully ill get some pics if i can convince my mate to lend me his camera.

theres actually more of a rush for them now as we are starting a campain! so the fleet is now 2000 pts... and with the amout of convertion work i think iv been takeing lessons of vanvlak
