True. But since you cant buy them in the stores and online is the only place, perhaps not wildly surprising. |

Some stores still sell the boxes, I bought a BFG box set a month back from the Durham GW store. They've still got Bloodbowl and Mordheim there too. Not sure how typical this is, though. regards, Reaver |

I believe Reading has at least some of the box sets, but it is a big store these days. |

I wonder how long it will be before LOTR is exiled to Specialist status. |

(javelin98 @ Oct. 27 2006,15:33) QUOTE I wonder how long it will be before LOTR is exiled to Specialist status. From what I've heard, GW is already considering what to replace it with to be the third core game. |

Andy H told me that BFG was likely to be pushed more in the future. |

40k sells more than Fantasy I believe. Also the races and weapons are a lot harder to sub with other manufacturers than many Fantasy ranges (a bolt gun, shuriken cannon etc - all have very characteristic features from a WYSIWYG perspective, unlike the far more generic weapons in fantasy like 'double handed weapons'). I could see the sense in promoting a 40k system like BFG or Epic, which involve LOTS of models. Not that it looks like this would happen anytime soon... |

I predict they will come up with a 'new' game with simpler , more idiotic rules and cheaper miniatures.... [sarcasm mode off] ![]() ib |

I agree that as a core game, Epic or BFG both have the best position, BFG for uniqueness (The mere fact that it's a space-combat game sets it apart) and Epic simply for the number of models / sales potential. |

We can always hope for Epic, but seeing BFG pushed again wouldn't be bad, either. Just about ANYTHING is better than the waste of pages that is the LotR content of WD. As long as it's not Inquisitor. |
