Well, we[the powers that be ]were having a discussion lately, and it occured to us, that for using the Demiurg in Campaigns, they don't have an appeal chart. A fleet that specialises in Commerce and they couldn't even apply for a loan from the Bank of Macragge?
So, the suggestion is that everyone brainstorms, here's a few ideas I put out earlier, add and debate at your leisure!
- Tau Manta Wing support from local forces[I propose a simple allowance of 8 Mantas to be deployed at the outset of the game] - A Kroot Warsphere - A Human Pirate/Rebel band: Squadron of D3+1 Chaos Escorts[roll for each escort: 1- Cobra 2- Iconoclast 3- Sword 4- Infidel 5- Firestorm 6- Idolator] - A Rogue Trader Cruiser
We need more, lots more, innovative and interesting/practical suggestions!

Hi Xisor,
Is this as the 'other' option for appeals?
Cheers,

Yup, the alternate for a crewskill/refit is to make an appeal IIRC. An alternative to the Refit or Reinforcement from experience. [Ships can gain refits from experience not just from brotherhoods] It's kinda 'needed' as they don't have one, but seem a perfect race to have one that is *very* varied...
Alot of renown [???s] can get [buy] alot of support...

Some ideas:
2. Your scouts find mineral resources not yet discovered by any other race. Gain control of a mining world adjacent to your base. It can be represented by a planet or by a dense asteroid field, and can be discovered like a pirate base and captured.
3. You find a passing Bastion ship from another Brotherhood, which offers to give your ships some repairs. You gain D6 extra repair points for the next turn only.
4.... (i have run ut of ideas... maybe the arrival of reinforcements as described by Xisor?)

The 'Demiurg' reinforcements seem finely incorporated in the 'Reinforcements' options anyway. Non-Demiurg Reinforcements seem ideal for the appeals bit.
The Mining world thing is pretty cool, I likey!
I'm having a brainstorm sessions come Tuesday as my exams'll be finished. As an aside, anyone interested in Demiurg would be more than slightly welcome in the "So, you want a Tau Titan..." thread in the HQ Tau Development forum, where we're looking at Demiurg in Epic-scale!

"It has been our custom to equip our trading partners with an exchange unit." -A new/primative spacefaring race has been contacted. Trade in raw materials in exchange for simple technology will prove greatly profitable. Gain X additional repair points per turn. These points require the "Exchange unit" which is randomly assigned to one of your capital ships.
"All that moves is easily heard in the void." -For the next battle, you may choose the battlezone and scenario.
"We will not be Bound!" -The few worlds that the Demiurg choose to guard they guard with unmatched tenacity. In the next scenario involving a Demiurg-held planet, the Demiurg will get triple the normal amount of planetary defenses.

Magsu[Magus], fantastic! That's the exact kind of thing I was looking for[I just didn't know it!].
The only quibble with those 'as it stands' is that under the Campaign List, Demiurg don't hold planets at all, they're a Raiding Fleet. Otherwise though, perfect thematically!

Maybe that could only be in place if before you have rolled the "your scouts find mineral resources" appeal entry.
Another one:
"Strange new worlds": the Demiurgs have stablished contact with a new, almost unknown alien race, and a exchange of technology has taken place. Select one cruiser or battle cruiser from your fleet. This ship is allowed one roll in the xenotech system table from "Fabric of the Empire" (i.e., the Rogue Trader rules)

If you let me to tweak your entries a little, let's see what the appeal chart looks so far:
DEMIURG APPEAL CHART
2. "Mining is getting a living" -Your scouts find mineral resources not yet discovered by any other race. Gain control of a mining world adjacent to your base. It can be represented by a planet or by a dense asteroid field, and can be discovered like a pirate base and captured.
3. "Brothers from far away" -You find a passing Bastion ship from another Brotherhood, which offers to give your ships some repairs. You gain D6 extra repair points for the next turn only.
4. "The enemy of my enemy..." - A Human Pirate/Rebel/Merc band joins offers his services in exchange of a part of salvage rights: You get squadron of D3+1 Chaos Escorts[roll for each escort: 1- Cobra 2- Iconoclast 3- Sword 4- Infidel 5- Firestorm 6- Idolator]
5."It has been our custom to equip our trading partners with an exchange unit." -A new/primative spacefaring race has been contacted. Trade in raw materials in exchange for simple technology will prove greatly profitable. Gain 1D6 additional repair points per turn. These points require the "Exchange unit" which is randomly assigned to one of your capital ships.
6. "All that moves is easily heard in the void." -For the next battle, you may choose the battlezone and scenario.
7. "We will not be Bound!" -The few worlds that the Demiurg choose to guard they guard with unmatched tenacity. If you rolled a 2 before, any scenario involving the Demiurg base and planet/asteroid field/whatever, the Demiurg will get triple the normal amount of planetary defenses.
9. "Old friends gather at rough times" - The Tau/Kroot have sent some ships to help you as a reward for helping them in the past. Roll a D6: if you roll 1-4, you get up to 8 free mantas to be deployed in your next battle as a defender. If you roll a 5-6, a Kroot Warsphere joins your fleet.
Well, we need at least 3 more entries, so anyone who can read it POST! The demiurg needs you!

Well, they can't (or rather: maybe shoudln't) be strictly in that order.
In addition to 'The Enemy of my Enemy', something akin to this:
'Philanthropy, benevolence, free trade, exploitation' The Brotherhood is joined by ancient starfaring associates, their mutual contact passed down through the centuries. Up to two hundred points of Corsair Eldar, Dark Eldar or Craftworld Eldar vessels may be added to the Demiurg Fleet list. [NB, this should be far away from 7 on the 'list', so that it's unlikely to be rolled]
I'll have a few more thoughts...

Quite good Xisor. Points I dunno.
Maybe the stations should have something like mining droids. Ray taught of these things before. Maybe he can add.
