Okay, not as extensive as the Space Wolves or Black Templars by the Admiral & Ray, but a beginning with some ideas about this dark chapter.

- Dark Angels have 'the Rock', beefed up Monastrie IMO.
- Deathwing & Ravenwing companies
- They hunt the 'Fallen Angels'
- shooty chapter
- Lot of secrecy

From Armada we know Dark Angels pioneered the Hunter Class Destroyers and maintain large flotillas of them.
That would lead to this in a fleet list:

Escorts
- Any numbers of Hunters may be chosen
- May only take specific SM escorts, no IN allowed
- Other SM type escorts may not exeed number of Hunters in fleet.

Reserves
- Because of their secrecy and distrust of other factions Dark Angels may not take any kind of reserves. Scared somebody finds out....

Hunting the Fallen
- When the enemy fleet contains a vessel with 1 or more Fallen Angels aboard. The Dark Angels must board this vessel.
-Because of this 'hunting' Dark Angels have some fast & agile Strike Cruisers available (variant idea, faster but lighter weaponry)
- Cypher. If Cypher is in play Dark Angels get +1 LD, must board vessel with Cypher.

Shooty chapter
Battle Barges:
Port weapons battery 60cm 12
Starboard weapons battery 60cm 12
Prow Torpedoes 30cm 6
Dorsal Bombardment Cannon 30cm 8

Some special rules needed

Hunter Strike Cruiser 130pts
30cm speed
1 shield
6+ armour
2 turrets

P/S batteries 4 30cm
Prow Launch bay 2 sqdr
AAF 5D6

Bit furter on 'the Fallen'. In case of Dark Angels they are 'necessary ' in a way.

So in friendly games I would give this option.

When a Dark Angels Fleet is fighting against a Chaos Fleet or an (rebellious) Imperial Navy fleet. The Chaos or IN player may choose to have Fallen Angels aboard a ship, wich may not disengage.

The ship at where they are is known to the Dark Angels. If the vessel is succesfully being boarded the Dark Angels get 50% vps of that ship regardles if its destroyed or not.

If the Dark Angels player doesn't succeed the vps go to the opposing fleet.

In a campaign this may be chosen as a subplot. Getting renown (2+/-1).

If Cypher is the fallen angel the vps are 100% and renown +3/-2.

First, what if the Fallen Angel is on an Emperor or Oberon, gets BMs in base contact, and ends up moving off the board?  What if the IN/Chaos player inadvertantly manoeuvres a cruiser/battleship near a board edge and it cannot turn enough to remain on the board?  Is the player forced to BR?  What if they fail?  Who decides if it is inadvertant or not?

Rename the Hunter SC to avoid confusion with the escort.

Even better than the BTs and SWs as there are even fewer new ships than the other lists :8):

ehm....Good! That's why it are only ideas. Hmmm, I like the Fallen Angel idea as fluff. Finding justification in BFG is a little harder. Is it possible at all?
Some sort of sub-plot for Dark Angels must be possible.

True, but inspiration lacked...

Ah yeah, I know what you mean. Space Marines popping up everywhere.
I think the extra Dark Angels variants can be dropped IMO. I see Dark Angels very vanilla as a chapter. They only need some special rules like the Death/Ravenwing (in BFG?), anti-reserves, the Hunter escorts and the Fallen.

Actually, when me and Xabre were trying to figure out the variants, it was decided to limit the BB to 2 variants aside from the standard BB, hence the Assault and Exterminator Barge as well as the Standard Barge.

The SCs, we ended up with 3 because everything else is just mainly switching prow weaponry but we also made it a point that it has to have at least a prow launch bay or prow torps or both.

So not to worry as I think we've already exhausted the variants we think the IN are willing to allow. We even have the Heavy Dauntless variant (see the Strike Cruiser topic) and gave it Str 3/30 cm lances but that's it for the that weapon system. We also put that special rule in to make sure that the standard SCs are not deliberately forgotten to be taken as they are still more abundant in the SM fleet.
