Gotta love those accidental purchases
.There are rules for the FW Tau fleet ( The CPF - Commerce Protection Fleet ) in the hardback Imperial Armour III - The Taros Campaign book produced by Forgeworld. It's a beautiful book, and hopefully they will have sorted out the hundreds ( quite literally ) of typos that were in the first print-run.
However, be warned its a pricey purchase, there's only 5 pages given to the fleet ( plus some small mention in the main background ), there's no actual fleet list ( just the rules for each ship ), and as far as I'm aware the rules are still not recognised as being official.
The only way to officially field the CPF is to have the models 'count as' their metal Tau counterparts. So a Warden model uses the Orca rules for instance.
That said, myself and others over at the SG forums have put together a pretty decent set of rules and fleet list for the CPF. I submitted it to Fanatic Online 3 weeks ago but have no response about it as of yet. Truth be told I'm getting a bit peeved at their cotinued silence so may just put it on the web myself. Should be a good read even if you decide not to use the rules. Plus it has pretty pictures!
. Friday sounds good to me though. especially since I'm off to Blackpool on a work trip next week so won't be online much. It'll also give me time to see if Tael has made any changes to his picture. That was really just the first version he sent me and I think he intended to make some alterations. I said that it looked great as it was but I would only release it publically once it he was happy with it. That was back when I thought the article might at least warrant some response from FOM :80 .
