Hey cool! Darn, my shipment hasn't arrived yet.

Possible to enter more as one entry? How about previous shown models, last time they where not allowed, correct?

Please hit me if I didn't read the rules thread correctly......

The rules say one pic per entry. Can this be a pic consisting of more than one shot? I think its better when you can see a ship from different angles. :;):

Are photoshopped backgrounds allowed? Not everyone is a master at the PC.

Thanks for your questions.

The spirit of the rules is that a ship which has already been displayed should not be entered. However, I am unwilling to specifically regulate against this. In addition, I do feel that voting will naturally sway away from ships which are not 'new' to the voter naturally. Therefore, I would recommend that people submit new entries.

Each entry should consist of a single picture, however the rules state that:

If you wish, you may submit a single picture which consists of your ship from a number of different angles, in effect a composite picture. However, the normal rules apply to this in terms of size and dimension.

So, yes, you can submit a single picture with a number of shots of your vessel from various angles.

Photoshopped pictures are allowed. However, this is a painting competition and the quality of the paint job is what will be assessed, so the background, etc should be mostly ignored when voting.

Thanks.

What does "one pic per entry" mean.

Can I post more than one entry?
Can I only post one entry per ship type?
Only one per race?
Or as much as I want? (my Nid Cruisers differ drastically)

Although it is probably up to Cs to answer this definitively I'm pretty sure it simply means this:

You may only post one image of each ship you enter (the image may contain multiple shots from different angles but still only one physical image)

You may post as many entries as you like of as many ships as you like but each ship must be made as a single entry. So you could post two identically painted Imperial cruisers if you wanted to. It wouldn't be very smart but it is definitely possible.

I'd warn against entering too many ships though as you risk competing against yourself. Last year I had a number of entries some of which ended up in the finals. However as people only got one vote in the end the votes for my ships were split up while the votes for the competitors' entries could be focussed on that one entry.
Although you are certainly welcome to post as many ships as you want I'd probably not go for any more than 2-3 ships. In a competition quality is always better than quantity so pick the best of the lot :;):

The Warmaster is absolutely correct.

Think of it this way, each physical model can only be entered into the competition once, and can have only a single (possibly composite) picture as its submission. However, you can enter as many different vessels as you want to (and since this is about promoting the game, this is in the spirit of it all). If you want to paint up three Carnage Class Cruisers, and enter a single picture of each, then you are welcome to and this would be three seperate entries. However, I would recommend that if you did this, you paint them differently, as multiple ships in the same colour scheme tends to actually work against you with the voting.

Cybershadow,

I asked for a news item over at portmaw regarding the competition, linking to this site. Hope you don't mind.

Maybe you should do a newsflash at www.epic40k.co.uk homepage.

Excellent idea. Thanks. (But, I do wonder what Port Maw will make of it!   )

I have added a note on the main page here. I should go to places like Warseer and shout about it too...

Thanks.

Nothing, they just placed my notice there (www.portmaw.com), with a typo (twice for) in it.

Hi. Unfortunately, we cant really include scenery items in the competition unless they are fortress-type installations.

Still that doesnt mean that you cant show off the work on the general BFG picture board!
