Issue Five went live today. Any Gothic enthusiasts can find it in the usual place: Go to www.epic40k.co.uk and click onthe red button for Warp Rift. This issue has potential Escort Carrier rules, new rules for allied fleets, the Black Legion fleet, new fiction and two new scenarios. Let me know what you think. |

Good issue with some interesting articles but WTF is Chubbybob?? heheh While it is nice to see new ships offered for consideration , I really think the AC carrying escort is not feasible. (I also disagree with the FW transport converted to a carrier) For all the reasons I give on the carrier section of my website http://www.angelfire.com/games4/chubbybob/carriers.htm I just can't bring myself to believe in these vessels as AC carriers with all the servicing, maintenance, repair, fuel and quarters that go with them. (For the same reason I don't believe in armed warships that carry them either. ) When I thought about this problem a few years back I remembered that one of the earliest solutions to the air and sub threat in WWII prior to the mass production of light dedicated escort carriers, which incidentally were not that light or that small, was the auxiliary merchant escort. These had a one time throw away aircraft that could be armed and launched but not recovered by landing on. At the time I found a brigade models mini that suited the bill perfectly. You can see it at http://www.angelfire.com/games4/chubbyb ... arrier.htm Bob DeAngelis PS BTW as i didn't know whetehr to post here or in the BFG section , I have done both so maybe the best place to reply is there. |

Hi Bob, you mean the CAMship concept - Catapult Aircraft Merchantman, if I remember. That would be a nice model... ![]() |

Ah, thanks Bob - nice conversion - I liked the Imperification idea. Bit of care needed though, one vowel wrong and you're chaos. Is there anything Imperial you havn't done for BFG? |
