Ok, so I'm not sure if this is a good place to put it or not, but I figure its BFG related, just not 40k background.

Starting off, I'm a huge fan that still plays Babylon 5 Wars, in fact I've got 15 fleets at 15,000 Points each.

Abbai
Balosian
Brakiri
Cascor
Centauri
Descari
Dilgar
Drazi
Earth
Hyach
Minbari
Narn
Vree
Shadows
Vorlon

Though 15k points doesn't sound as huge considering an average ship in B5Wars ranges around 500pts, but still 16 to 28 ships per fleet.
The reason I'm posting is due to B5Wars being a very time consuming game. Don't get me wrong, its fun to have weapons with different arcs, different recycle rates and ranges, and Electronic Warfare but finding time to play a larger game can be difficult.

Getting to my point, I've currently begun converting Babylon 5 Wars ships' to Battle Fleet Gothic. Its still in the very early stages but had to out line several key differences.

1. Escorts need not apply. Even the smallest ships in B5Wars are strong and have large amounts of firepower, too difficult to squeeze them down into an Escort form. Heavy Escort with 2 hit points and no squadron requirements or even a light cruiser class with 4 hit points, but will generally have 90 degree turns so they should compensate for lack of Escorts fairly well.

2. Lack of shields. Only a couple races in B5Wars have shielding technology, even then it differs from BFG. The major thing in Babylon 5 Wars is its ability to use weapons defensively. These weapons will intercept incoming shots, this element could easily be applied as "shields", the only remaining issue is laser weapons. Lasers tend to be an exception to interception rules because of their "fast as light" aspect. I'm perfectly happy with doing a little hand waving here.

3. Aft arc weapons. This one I'm torn on. Ships in B5Wars often have weapons across the majority of arcs, including the rear arc. I'm leaning towards leaving the aft arc empty to keep some adherence with BFG ruleset, but I'm open to suggestions.

4. Jump capable ships. For any purposes of crossovering, if some of you want to end up using these as an alien race in BFG, the issue comes up that not all B5Wars ships are jump capable. All ships can navigate hyperspace, dare I say the Warp, but only certain vessels can open a vortex into the Warp...Hyperspace. ;) Do I hand wave this or rig up a rule that jump ships can sustain a vortex for other ships to escape/enter combat?

So if there is any interest here I will happily share what I have thus far.
