Hello one and all, i have a few questions to run by you guys regarding SM fleets in general excommunicates.......

you see i have been reading through 'The Horus Heresy' series (and researching the 40k fluff) and what occurred to myself is that although those who rebelled the light of the emperor we not all in-fact renegades whom fell into chaos merely duped by horus. they were disarmed and guilliman later sent them into the eastern fringe outside of the astronomican's light, in theory banishing them to fight the xenos forever with no way home.
(this is what a read on a few wikis and the heresy books over the last couple weeks by no means am i saying that it is 100% correct)

while reading the books of the heresy it makes reference to horus's BB along with others as having lances, which makes me think despoiler was the original SM BB (current BB models launch bay at the front 'mouth' just like the despoiler). since though the imperium has restructured not allowing SM the use of lances hence my idea on the despoiler.

With this in mind i wanted to make a SM fleet with this sort of back story behind it. so this is where you guys come in!!! would it be prudent to use a despoiler and other chaos ships as my fleet selections? bearing in mind what i have written above.....

many thanks

WarmasterTosh :)

Hi,

Go here:
http://tinyurl.com/23nul8q
(Official in development rules for BFG)

check the draft rules for Marines. These will be official at one point. These rules give Marines access to Venerable Battle Barges. So an option to take the Despoiler in a Marine fleet.

cheers!

hey,

Horizon you are my hero! ;D i have been looking for the FAQ 2010 for the past week, not just that you answered my query too. ok digressing now i envisioned my fleet mostly chaos ships (as i have a chaos fleet which i love) similar to the disporex as ships seen in warprift 15, i thought as they have not been in the imperium for so long this would be the case. any thoughts on that?

cheers

WarmasterTosh

p.s. its a shame you have finished doing the warprift i have been a big fan :D
