Quick question to the BFG gurus: since, as far as I understand, the difference between most ships in the same class (i.e. cruisers, which I'm led to believe is the "important" class, comprising the backbone of a fleet) lies in the armament, mounting magnets on the ships' hulls and weapons would allow for the building of a "configurable" fleet, i.e. one in which you could swap classes as you see fit.

Is this feasible or does the plastic pieces' configuration make this impossible?

I'm starting to get ideas, here...  :D

It is not only possible but desirable if you are not rich :D I am a conversion/modelling moron, so I have not done it, but some friends of mine have done it to great effect. It increased the effective size of their fleet tenfold in the blink of an eye. for specifics on how to do it, ask the real gurus ;) Only this: yup, yoiu are on the right track here! :D

Regards,

Xavi

Hi Magnus - I've not done it - for some weird reason I prefer well-defined, unchangeing models - but it's a good idea for gaming flexibility (I'm a modeller first and a gamer second, so that may be the reason why I don't bother). I'd say really thin magnetic strips behind the launch bays/lances/batteries could work; pinning is an alternative, although it's probably more laborious. Good luck in your quest. :D
