I was browsing around some BFG sites here and there (I resisted the urge to acquire a new money sink... for now... but maybe I'll crumble next year). Anyway, what I noticed is that the "official" army list found in the living rulebook has only details for relatively few classes, while I can find zillions more of them around. I was wondering where all these came from; are they custom scratch built projects, or do they come from some "official" source (i.e. BFG mag, supplements etc.)? Also, how do you build them? Custom conversion, mail order kits...? It seems like the online shop sells only a very limited amount of different classes. Did those all go OOP? Last thing I want is to plunge in the game only to discover I have to track down 25 different OOP pieces on Ebay... |

The ingenious part about BFG is the plastic weapons spures. Using these it is possible to build a dizzying array of different ships as the parts fit all the cruiser, grand cruiser and battleship kits arround (well for Chaos and Imperials anyway) Also I'd say that scratch building BFG isn't really that hard to do once you get the hang of it which means even more possibilities. AFAIK the full range of BFG models are still available in the online store. Rules for certain ships can be a bit trickier to dig out though as some are in the now OOP BFG magazine and BFG annual. Cheers! ![]() |

Aha... so it's modular? I.e. a bit like the old Warlord which you could fit with the different weapons? I can understand then how you could produce lots of variants... AFAIK the full range of BFG models are still available in the online store. Rules for certain ships can be a bit trickier to dig out though as some are in the now OOP BFG magazine and BFG annual. |

The BFG Armada has a large amount of ships and several fleet lists. |

There are a number of vessels scattered over a number of different publications, and all at different stages of being official. I attempted to put together a resource to keep track here: http://www.epic40k.co.uk/rules/gothic/gothicindex.html It needs updating with Fanatic Mag, but it should be fairly complete. The great thing about Gothic is that there are only (basically) three types of weapons - batteries, lances and ordnance - so it is possible to put together a whole load of vessels by just playing with a few values and building a new mini. |
