Hi all

I have a problem with my Apocalyse BB

I got it about a month ago and i've been playing it on fairly small boards so it's 30cm range hasn't been a problem. But recently i got hold of a bigger board meaning it took longer to get to the enemys and i came to use it's special rule where u can target up to 60cm but take a engine critical.

So i'm wondering when taking the critical do you also take the damage point associated with it beacuse i think that if a ship captain wanted to destroy something he wouldn't want to be destroying his own ship in the process  ???

You suffer a critical with all the consequences, including the extra point of damage.

I'm not sure about this.  It doesn't seem right for the ship to take damage when it uses it speical abilities.  

I always imagined if surfered the effects from the critical. Thrusters damaged right?  

Of course I haven't seen an official ruling on it, it might be a good question for the GW boards.

Declare your Apocalypse being transformed into a Victory (the models are the same), lose str.2 lances for +30cm range -and you?ll never have to worry about a sick range/critical damage relationship.
(That?s what I did after thinking about the Apoc?s rules)...

I would also say that only the critical result is applied, not the damage point. However, any damage resulting from the critical would apply. This is all without a single rule in front of me and only an aging memory!
