Hey guys,
Well you asked for it and I'll deliver. ?The first pics pf my Imperial BFG fleet. ?The first miniature "Army" painted to completetion in my collection.
This is not the all the ships. ?As my first venture into miniature ?pictures I still have much to learn. ?The first lesson was exposure. ?Many of my white Gothic sector prows came back like beacons in the night. ?So there will be a wave two.
But unitl then I hope you enjoy. ?
?BFG Fleet

Great fleet mate.. looks really nice.. I had the same problem photographing my Imperial fleet; not using the flash and just taking pics in very well lit conditions was the only way to stop the glow...

Wow! Great stuff!
For my mini shots (and I am NO expert) I also turn off the flash and setup with 2 desk lamps very close to what I'm shooting (just out of shot). You do need to adjust their positions carefully though to avoid shadows and glare.

I got praise...I'm so Happy
The board is not actually a board. It is two felt star mats prevoiusly sold by Geo-Hex. I have two of them so they cover my entire 5' x 8' board. To take the pictures I set up some books in the background and just lay the cloth over the books.
I also know a friend achieved very similar results by just air brushing on black felt and the toothbrush spray method for stars.
For my mini photo studio I have three flood lights. I had the flash off but I guess I still had too much lighting. So next time I take the pictures I'm going to reduce the exposure.
I'll add a pic of the photo setup soon.
Thanks for the replys.
Take Care
