Im making a BFG Chaos fleet and as I dont actualy play the game I have some questions.
Firstly the PlanetKiller... is this a good model to use in a fleet?
Ive orderd one anyway coz it looks good. And as Im more into modeling than gaming that was important to me.
Secondly the Blackstone Fortress.... same question.
And thirdly Grand Cruisers and Cruisers... Has anyone have a link to some very plain easy to understand info about these models. I know that there are many different types of Cruiser but I need to know what bitz go on what Cruiser.
As I said... Ive never actualy played BFG so Im a complete noob. But even though Im more into the modeling side of it Id still like some helpfull hints on what makes an effective fleet and what doesnt.
Thanx :)

Right, thats it. I will put together an assembly diagram for the plastic cruisers. I have been thinking of this for a while now, and I will do this as soon as I can. What did you have in mind, in particular? The best thing to do is to look at the fleets page of Fanatic and see the pictures. If you want to know about specific ships, just ask. I will get pictures and an article put together as soon as possible.

For the standard cruiser:
Devastation - lances and launch (Launch usually at front)
Murder - twin weapons
Carnage - twin weapons (I cut the spikes off to show the difference)
Slaughter - twin lances (this is the usual configuration, however it is not entirely true to the stats. I use lance and weapons, but if you do this you will need a way of making it different from the Murder upgrade option if you use it)

As for the Blackstone - it is the only mini from the Blue Book that I dont use and have never used. Personally, I hate it. I dont think that I am alone in this either.

The Planet Killer is OK, but really should be reserved for special games and scenarios.

..The Planet Killer is cool, but maybe a little extreme for a new fleet.. go for one of the basic battleships.. the Despoiler is by far the coolest looking imo..

As for cruisers, basic cruisers and heavy cruisers are just the plastic kits you get in the boxed game, while Grand Cruisers are much bigger- for Chaos you get the Vengeance class and those based on its hull, and the Repulsive class... See them here, and here (the Vengeance can be used by both Chaos and Imperial fleets..

Thanx for the info.
I agree the Dispoiler is a great looking model.
If a make a Nurgle fleet I think Ill make an eye in the Dispoilers front. Or maybe a fan-filled mouth for Khorne.
Ive been reading quiet a few reviews about the planetkiller and seems like a mixed view. Some love it some hate it.
Everyone seems to dislike the Blackstone Fortress, but dame its a cool looking model.
Maybe Ill make a fleet consisting manly or Repulsive Grand Cruisers. They have a lot of customizing possibilities, and everyone seems to think their good ships to use.

..Repulsives are limited to one per every two normal cruisers are they not? ...I may well be wrong as I don't have my rulebook here, but its something like that I believe...
