Just picked up the new WD yesterday.

I haven't read it yet (currently packing ready for a camping trip) but I had a brief skim through.

There's a few pages around the centre for BFG.  There they show all the Tau ships and names.  The Large battleship can actually dock the smaller escorts onto it, one on each side.  :o

It also has some of the rules listed in it.  I didn't read them, so not sure if they are going over the things that have changed from the rule book (listed were ordanance and the nova cannon and a couple of others, but I forgot now)

I'll have a better look tonight.  (the only time I got to read last night, I was looking at the new beastmen army book for fantasy instead).

I forgot, it also had a painted grey knight strike cruiser, Demiurg ship and all the different transports.

I had another skim through.

About 4-6 pages long.

It talks about the Tau craft.  There's their big BShip sized craft, which is primarily designed to carry the smaller craft long distances (as they are too small to have the engines that allow it) and they the colonise.  So they were first designed as massive cargo ships, that have been retrofitted with guns.

Next is the Merchant Class, which again is a cruiser sized transporter, which was fitted with weapons during wars with the Orks.

Then there is the Hero Class, which was designed to be some opposition for the Lunar class of the Imperials.  I think its good, but not quite as good as the Imperial counterpart.

Then there are two escorts.  One is tiny, about the size of a cobra, one is an equivalent of the sword.

They have also said that there are other versions due.

The rules arre a list of the trial rules that have been published.  I.e. the nova cannon, Escort VP's, carrier attack craft limits etc.

They then show a pic of the fleets of races that aren't in the Blue Book.

Space Marines
Tyranids
Dark Eldar and
Necrons.

I still  haven't read it.  Other things keep cropping up.  But at least I haven't spoilt it for you all.  I'll let you all read it.

Er, guys? While it's nice to see WD BFG coverage, what's with all the Tau excitement? There's much more detail in the Tau BFG rule/background download CyberShadow flagged up ages ago than in WD. See...
